Nala's Family
This one was a big one. Used about eight screenshots to do this one. The hardest part was definitely the mane. It was also somewhat difficult to do Sarafina's face, as she only appears in a handful of seconds in TLK, so there are few screencaps with a clear view of her face and I wasn't feeling any of the available ones. This piece features Nala, Sarafina, and my versions of Mheetu and Nala's father, who is named Taji in my universe.
Taji's design is based off the idea introduced in TLG that he looks like Kion. I also gave him a dark nose to match the painting. I tried very hard to make him look less like Simba by making his nose broader, his eyes more narrow, and his jaw smaller. Overall, it kind of worked, I think.
Mheetu's design was based on the concept art. I have always imagined him as a small, pale cub, so that's what I was aiming for. I also had to make him look less like Simba, so I gave him a smaller muzzle and smaller ears.
