Personality: Stern, serious, no-nonsense, and overbearing at times, but has a soft, kind, and compassionate side as well. Is loyal to both his mate and the nation of Equestria.

History: Raised in a military family in western Equestria, Longbow was valedictorian at the West Tersk Military Academy, and First Captain at the Equestria Military Academy, where he graduated top of his class. Several years later, he was promoted from major to colonel and became chief of staff of the 42nd Pegasus Division.

     Longbow was later recalled to active duty as commander of the Equestria Army Forces.

     Years later, when Tirek escaped from his prison and started wreaking havoc, Longbow sent out his troops, but they were no match. Longbow's remaining forces were soon compelled to withdraw, against Longbow's orders. Though his forces lost, Longbow was awarded the Medal of Honor for his defense of Equestria.

     A few months later, during an unusually cold winter, Longbow was flying back to base with some firewood and some winter supplies when he heard a loud crash in a house below him, and flew down to investigate. When he landed, he looked in the house and saw a mare collapsed on the floor amid some broken dishes. Longbow entered, and rushed over to them, recognizing the symptoms of hypothermia. He laid down next to the mare and put his wings around her to warm her up. Once she had come to, Longbow brought her to his base and set her up in front of the fireplace with a blanket.

     As the mare recovered, and even after she was recovered, she found herself starting to fall for the general, not just because he had saved her life but also because of his kind heart and selflessness despite how loud and overbearing he was with his troops.

     A few weeks later, while he and Gentle Feather were out for a walk, Longbow was injured by a falling tree, breaking one of his wings and one of his legs. Feather brought him to her house in Ponyville to have his injuries tended to. After Longbow was fully recovered, he couldn't take his feelings for Feather any longer, and he admitted his feelings for her; Feather did likewise.

     Currently, Feather divides her time between her home and General Longbow's base.

Relation to MLP: His mate is friends with Fluttershy and sometimes helps with taking care of their birds, and lives in Ponyville. His air forces were wiped out by Tirek.
