Season 2 is the 2nd season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, bonding the 6 main ponies together with friendship even further! The girls are the same, lovable ponies from the previous season, each facing their own challanges together. From this season onwards, each of the girls are allowed to write their own letters to Celestia (Rather than just Twilight), branching out to find more lessons that can be learnt!

This season, we were introduced to Merriweather Williams, a new writer for the series, her first episode being "The Mysterious Mare Do-Well." While the show recieves a new writer, the creator Lauren Faust no longer has as much involvement with the series as she previously did in season 1.

Season 2 was the introduction of two new villians: Discord the god of chaos and Chrysalis, the changeling queen. Both posed a threat to the mane 6, but also valuable lessons about friendship that they were in need of. Though there may have been villians, season 2 offers some new and exciting side characters: Shining Armor, a brother for the main character, Twilight, and a new princess: Princess Cadence, Twilight's old baby sitter AND wife to Shining Armor.
