Personality:

Nicky craves approval and is a real show off, always acting the tough guy. He is something of a clown and always plays up to his audience- especially if the audience is female. While he may have inherited his father's flirtatious ways, Nicky lacks the self-assuredness to handle rejection and is very sensitive, often feeling hurt when none was meant. However sensitive he may be, he always tries to avoid showing this side of him. In his early life, Nicky was particularly anxious as he worried about finding a forever home, but always tried to hide his fears from his siblings. As an adult, Nicky's anxieties were lessened by the stable home in which he found himself and he became a silly and loving pet. Amongst the pampered pets of his neighbourhood, he earned himself quite the reputation as a rogue and a player with a talent for talking his way into getting what he wants.

Background:

Of Dodger and Rita's five pups, Nicky is the youngest and smallest. As a tiny pup, he was weak and lagged behind the others in development.  Because of this, Nicky always had a strong desire to prove himself to his family, fearing that he would always be looked upon as the weakling. He was fearful for a long time that he would never find his own place in the world. Whilst theiving on the streets with Lily, whom he greatly admired, Nicky was badly injured, breaking his leg. The Foxworths' (who had Nicky's brother, Rascal) helped Fagin to pay the vet bills, and during a visit to their home Nicky met a friend of Jenny's from school, who convinced her parents to bring the injured pup into their family. He bonded quickly and intensely to his new mistress, Sophie, and the pair became inseparable. Into adulthood, Nicky remained close to his birth family, and often spending time with his brother, Rascal, as well as spending a great deal of time building a reputation amongst the neighbourhood dogs- especially the ladies.

At two years old, Nicky formed a relationship with a newcomer in the house next door, a pretty young whippet by the name of Nina. Only several a couple of weeks after their first meeting, Nina fell pregnant with Nicky's litter- Dodger and Rita's first grandpups. It was a big shock to Nicky, who'd not taken his partnership with Nina seriously, but he formed close bonds with his six pups and grieved when four of them went on to new homes, never to see their parents again. The experience cemented Nicky and Nina's mateship, and they formed a close unit with Feather and Cloud, the two pups Nina's owner kept. Several years later, Nina's owner passed away of old age and entrusted the three dogs to Sophie and her family, who he knew had always loved them.
