History:
Fennel's father and mother died when she was only chick. She was taken into the guardianship of the Bishop of Peterborough. She was heir to her father's lands and wealth.

During the days when Prince John was the stand-in ruler of England, Fennel met Alan-a-Dale and the two fell in love with one another. The Bishop was not happy with this, so he quickly betrothed Fennel to his brother, an old, ugly knight. Fennel was distressed and unhappy with this arrangement. When the wedding day arrived, the tearful Fennel was led to the church. There was an upset, for when the bridegroom arrived, the harpist who had been entertaining the wedding guests did not stop playing, but only played louder. As it turned out, the harpist was Robin Hood.

Robin intimidated the Bishop, until it was revealed that the High Priest of Peterborough had only wanted to marry Fennel to his brother in order to gain access to the wealth of Fennel's father. Then Alan-a Dale appeared - it was he who had told Robin Hood of the wedding. In the end, Fennel and Alan-a-Dale were married. They escaped the church, leaving it's angry occupants,  with Robin Hood and ran to the safety of Sherwood Forest.

Later, when King Richard returned from the Crusades, he gave Fennel back her father's lands and possesions, which had been taken from her by the Sheriff of Nottingham. With Alan-a-Dale she went back to her parents' house,  rather glad to return to her old domestic lifestlye, as living in Sherwood Forest had been quite uncomfortable.

Relation to Robin Hood: Wife of Alan-a-Dale. Is accquainted with Robin Hood and his Merry Men.
