Description
Toby is a young turtle, who is a friend of Skippy, Sis and Tagalong (and their other siblings, no doubt). He is one of the many children of common folk who live in the village of Nottingham (his father is very briefly seen in the movie as a competitor in the archery tournament).
Toby is a shy and somewhat cowardly boy, with large round spectacles (eye glasses) and a narrow-brimmed hat. He is also overly-cautious about, well, pretty much everything, and is always warning his friends to be careful of things (which can tend to annoy them). He also has a reputation, among his friends, for being a tattle-tale.
Toby speaks with a general American accent, using slow and deliberate speech.
Origins of the character: While there are no specific foundations for this character in the Robin Hood legends, Toby does represent a sample of the average citizens of the village of Nottingham.
