Trigger, a vulture, is a member of the Sheriff of Nottingham's "brute squad".  He serves alongside of his buddy, Nutsy (whom he also has to keep in line from time to time).  Though not terribly bright, Trigger is smarter than Nutsy.  He dresses in a purple hooded cloak and a conical metal helmet.  His weapon of choice is a crossbow, which he's named "Ol' Betsy".  The crossbow has a touchy trigger, however, and the safety is not always engaged even when Trigger says it is. 

Trigger is a bit more clever and observant than either Nutsy or, on occasion, even the Sheriff.  However, since the Sheriff rarely takes Trigger's observations very seriously, it tends to mess things up.  Trigger speaks with a southern American accent.

Origins of the character: While there is no foundation for the character of Trigger in the Robin Hood legends, the Sheriff of Nottingham did have his own guards and enforcers.  Trigger, therefore, is pretty much an original character specific to this movie.
