Kestrel's 2nd Foal
Kestrel's given birth to her second foal with Loki; a little snowflake spotted colt she's named Starling.
Snowflake is probably one of the least well known of the Appaloosa patterns, but it's essentially white spots on a coloured base coat, and looks almost exactly like snowflakes have fallen on the horse's coat, hence the name.
Starling's design was inspired by the bird called the Common Starling. I wanted to give Kestrel a foal with a bird name, since she's got a bird's name, and the starlings outside my bedroom window gave me inspiration for a design ^^
I wasn't sure at first whether to make Starling a colt or a filly, but since Kestrel's already had a daughter, and Loki doesn't have many sons yet, I decided to make him a boy.
