Volunteers are currently needed for all positions in the Virtual Season.
If you'd like to volunteer to help out with a task, you've come to the right place!
Job Descriptions
Writers: The primary job of the writers is to write compelling episodes for the VS that stay true to the spirit of the original series. Previous creative writing experience of some kind is preferred but not required. If you have previous writing experience, please provide a sample of your work. (A few paragraphs to a few pages would suffice.) Potential writers should also have a good understanding of the character dynamics of TaleSpin as well as general knowledge of the show and its universe. If it's been awhile since you've seen it and you'd like to refresh your memory, TaleSpin DVDs are available, or if you can't quite afford the DVDs at the moment, you can watch most (if not all) of the TaleSpin episodes on YouTube. Writers should also have good spelling and grammar skills. You know...all that stuff you learned in school. ![]()
Creative Consultants: The primary job of the creative consultants is to assist the writers in developing stories and plots by providing feedback and ideas. If you have lots of ideas for episodes and would like to be a writer but don't have enough time to dedicate to writing, or don't have enough writing experience, then this is the job for you! Like the writers, creative consultants should have a good understanding of the TaleSpin universe and it's characters.
Beta Readers: The main job of the beta readers is to proofread script drafts for spelling and grammar errors, provide feedback, and point out things such as: improper characterization, plot holes, too much suspension of disbelief, or problems with continuity. The requirements for this position are much the same as for writers and creative consultants.
Artists: The primary role of the artists is to create illustrations (and possibly comic pages) for the episodes of the VS. Potential artists should have some experience in one or more of the following areas: concept art, line art, backgrounds and/or coloring. Artists candidates should also be able to produce art that is on-model, that is to say, art that emulates the Disney style that was used to animate the original series. Although not required, art created using a digital medium, such as a drawing tablet or graphics software, is preferred due to the ease of manipulation and editing. Please provide a sample of your work if you have one.
(Descriptions for the various types of artists will be added soon.)
If you think you have the necessary skills and would like to volunteer your time and talent to helping produce a Virtual Season of TaleSpin, we would love to have you on the team! Send a private message, including samples of your work if you have any (or links to samples), to the TSVS manager, 0x7B. You can even do multiple jobs if you'd like to and can handle the workload. Also, leave a comment below expressing your thoughts about the Virtual Season and why you want to volunteer.
Thanks to everyone for your time and dedication!
