Januray 1st, 2014 : Release of the alpha version!

October 4th, 2012 : New video posted, to show some progress made! The expected release date for the first episode of the game is now "Late 2013".

April 26th, 2012 : New game prototype released! This is a shoot'em up level, and is currently the most complete level! Piquel said he would now start the real development of the game, from beginning!

The most up-to-date version available is the alpha version. To download it, you need to be an alpha tester : if you want to apply, send an email to rpiquel@yahoo.com, and he'll send you a download link!

THE PROJECT

This project is lead by the fan Piquel, who is a long-time fan of the show and making a TaleSpin game was one of his dreams.

He had tried doing something with Game Maker for 5 years, but only recently he decided to start a real project.

The game will be a PC adventure game, and will be released for free. It is being made with Game Maker 8.1.

Most of the game will happen through Point & Click mode, along with some action-based levels (platforming & shoot'em up)

The game will heavily rely on the storytelling (after all, TaleSpin had the best Disney characters ever!) and will play a lot like graphical novels. (eg : the Phoenix Wright series)

All the main characters in TaleSpin will be involved in the story! The plot will have many twists, and will be PG-rated (only very slightly darker than the show)

There will be exclusively 2D hand-drawn graphics. (3D/CGI is not realistic, and hand-drawn is the most beautiful art and it suits TaleSpin perfectly!)

The length of the game : About 5 hours of gameplay, and two possible endings. There will be many extras to unlock in the game menu. (artworks, musics, ...) The game will be linear, but that's the only way to make an interesting scenario. Although there will be some subquests (like optional deliveries to get money - and you'll need a LOT of money in the game!!!)

And remember : This is a FAN GAME, not an OFFICIAL GAME!

The point is to make a game that would make Disney (and all the staff who worked on TaleSpin) proud! After all, Disney hasn't done a single thing for TaleSpin in 20 years - so if we don't do it yourself, who will? Let's show them there are still many people who love this series!!!
 

PROJECTED RELEASE DATE

Yeah, we know, that's your main question!

Piquel intends to release a demo of the first chapter in early 2013. (yes, that's far, but a realistic deadline) The project release for the whole game is currently fall 2014. That will depend a lot on who will be willing to help, though! So if you want to play this as soon as possible, maybe you should start helping!
