Greetings Jymn and Mark
I've heard some rumors that Disney has destroyed production cels, character design sheets, and/or anything related with traditional animation from several Disney's Animated series like TaleSpin. We know the current animation method is now digital such as 3D, flash, etc.
Is it true or are just rumors?

Having left Disney in '93, I have no idea what the Disney folks have done with Tale Spin materials. Sorry. Jymn

I'm not sure the people currently working at Disney even know if it's
true or not, actually... I guess that, until Disney decides to do something with it again (hopefully someday), we'll not know. I don't think they've completly destroyed everything, though. We're talking about Disney and one of their top/most popular shows at the time. Disney usually keeps everything of their animated films, I think it's the same for their series. If they got rid of the TaleSpin stuff, they would have got rid of Ducktales too, and I doubt they would have ever let that happen. They may not use these licences for a long time, but that doesn't mean they will never again. |
