These are the questions from a fan on the Cloudkicker's message board , Kit Lee :
#1 : Who was your favorite character to work with? and your favorite actors?
#2 : What's is the real deal on Kit's real parents?
#3 : Was Thembria a stereotype of Russia?
#4 : If Talespin had gone on more sessions, what was some of the planed story lines?
#5 : Was there any plans for characters that we didn't see in the show?
#6 : Was there ideas having Kit adopted by Baloo, and Rebecca in mind seeing the story line of the comic "A long flight home"?
(note : that comic is available on the Talespin comics page )
#7 : Was any of the comics short or long stories such as "A long flight home" ever planned for being an episode, if so what ones?

That's a lot of questions! So lemme take 'em one at a time.
#1 : Who was your favorite character to work with? and your favorite actors? /// Launchpad & Don Karnage spring to mind. Scrooge & Max are good, too. For actors... Jim Cummings, Corey Burton, Paul Winchell, Alan Young, Chuck McCann, Pat Fraley... God, there's so many!
#2 : What's is the real deal on Kit's real parents? /// Send $2,000 to my bank account, and I'll email you the answer. Along with the real scoop on Becky's husband.
#3 : Was Thembria a stereotype of Russia? /// Well, definitely the Cold War Soviet Union. For those of you who lived through the Cold War (and I doubt that's very many), you'll know that there was a real "Us" versus "Them" attitude in the world at that time. Thus the country names "Usland" and "Thembria." However, Usland was located roughly in the tropics of southeast Asia/Pacific. (Remember, this is a fictional world, folks.)
#4 : If Talespin had gone on more sessions, what was some of the planed story lines? /// Gee, I couldn't tell you, since we came up with 65, then stopped (as ordered). However, a fan pitched me a story that I really liked. I think it was called "The Hunt for White November" (Hunt for Red October) about a gigantic sheet metal Thembrian bomber that get stolen, and they blame Baloo. Good stuff. I'm sure I could easily do another season (13 episodes) without running dry on ideas. But, alas, Disney doesn't seem to want to consider the franchise anymore. (And it would work again, too, since the series is not locked into a contemporary time period - so it'll never go out of date.) *sigh*
#5 : Was there any plans for characters that we didn't see in the show? /// Not that I can remember.
#6 : Was there ideas having Kit adopted by Baloo, and Rebecca in mind seeing the story line of the comic "A long flight home"?
(note : that comic is available on the Talespin comics page ) /// I take no responsibility for the comic book series. While I'm glad they kept the franchise alive for a while, they never consulted me on storylines. In fact, I think in one of their earliest issues, I saw a jet plane and a skateboard (or something like that) - two things that were anachronisms in the Tale Spin time period.
#7 : Was any of the comics short or long stories such as "A long flight home" ever planned for being an episode, if so what ones? /// As I mentioned, there was no contact between the comic division and the TV animation division. I would have loved to have written some of the spin-off comics and children's books, but nobody ever asked me. (Except the Record Company - where I used to work - and they had me do a story-record.)

Err, yes, I guess Jymn's not ready to give such information (even
though I believe this is because he hasn't got the answers / didn't
took a decision on these parts because they weren't used in the
series, right? )And about sending 2000$ to your account, be careful or some fans may really consider doing it ![]() |
