But think of the South Pacific/Indian Ocean/Malaysia/Even some Rio de Jinero thrown in... sort of place for Usland (home of Cape Suzette) - very tropical. Then think of Thembria as the frozen wastelands to the north (Siberia). That's a rough approximation.

Anyway, yeah, Thembria is a parody... where everything is clunky, inefficient, frozen, wrapped in red tape, government top-heavy. It could be any number of dictatorships, but Russia is an easy stereotype to lock into. Glad you had a happy childhood! Jymn
