was he meant to be a Bagheera-type character? (I know W.C's a lion, and Baggy's a panther ;)) and is his first name really frank? I always wondered if he was from another Disney Production since he doesn't have a last name..

 

also is there a background story on how Wildcat and Baloo first met? or is it a leave it up to your imagination thing :)..

Wildcat isn't based on any other known animated character - brand new. I don't remember him having a first name, but a lot of scripts went under my nose in those days, and somebody may have thrown that in. Technically, Wildcat is.... a wildcat (cougar, mountain lion). He and Baloo DO have a history, but we never explained what that was. Those two were the original "Higher for Hire" partners.

Bagheera only makes a visual cameos as the prototype for Shere Khan's private air force pilots (all black panthers).

his name was never mentioned in any episodes.. I think I might've read the name on Wikipedia.. hmmm.. I don't remember he does resemble African Lion more than a Mountain lion though.. *shrug*

In which episode was he named Frank? I don't remember, though I have already heard it... And yes, Wildcat has a very specific personality (although the closest would probably be Goofy)
