After Efrafa was destroyed, and the ex-Efrafans had settled on Watership Down, Thorn was the only one of his whole family to go as well - his bother Bryony was missing, and all his sisters had left the Down almost as soon as they had arrived there. The native Watership Down rabbits were extra uncomfortable around Thorn, for being Woundwort's kin.

It was bad enough him looking so very different, so very strange. . .
