Personality: He seems a bit cold when you first talk to him, but when you actually get to know him or stick around him long enough he can actually be pretty friendly. He's a bit of a softy when it comes to Duncan, knowing what it is like to be made fun of, and he tries to help in any way possible.

Appearance: Tan with black face markings and a stubby tail.

Likes: Joey, Duncan, beer, his friends, girls

Dislikes: People who act big and bad, punks, being away from beer to long, being smacked by girls he's hitting on (He's used to it anyway), hearing that others have been making fun of his nephew.

History:
  Joey's dad had cheated on his mate with another dog, a German Shepherd. When Zak was born everyone wondered what was wrong with him. His fur color was strange, his face markings, and his tail. He was mocked by his siblings, but he was a ferocious pup. He was runty, but powerful.
  When he was a year old, old enough to be on his own, he left his family and his best friend. He went to find his dad, who he was not sure whether he was alive, dead, or elsewhere. On his search, he found his half-brother, Joey. At first Joey was just as skeptical as Zak's other siblings had been, but after awhile he slowly started to gain a slight respect for his brother. As they were crossing a street in New Orleans, the dog catcher came.
  Zak wanted Joey to escape, so he pushed him down a hillside, toward Charlie and Carface's Rat Race, calling out a promise that he would find Joey later on. Two months passed, and he finally escaped the pound. He went to the hillside first, but found nothing. After traveling around town and asking dogs what had happened, they told of how a ship had sunk recently, supposedly with Charlie and Carface in it, and that the employee's had scattered out. He then began to search for his brother, and wound up in San Fransisco.
  There, he found Joey with a mate with a few pups and immediately found his favorite out of them, Duncan, because he was always picked on just like he was. He and Duncan are very close, and talk a lot. They are barely seen apart, since Zak is like a father-figure to the younger mutt. Later on, when Duncan was grown up ad he had slipped a bit back into drinking, a familiar German Shepherd looking dog stepped into the bar Joey was working in, and started asking about Sam, whose mate had been killed by his rival Andrew. After a long conversation, he found out the dog was his brother, Helios, which surprised them both and Joey who was listening.
  Zak felt some bad feelings towards the dog, because he was one of the main ones who made fun of him when he was a pup. When these bad feelings arose and Helios noticed his attitude changed, he apologized, which surprised the tan Doberman. After that, the two started getting along after so long apart, and Zak enjoyed his time with both brothers, his nephew, and his father, whom Helios also finally got to meet.

Other:
  While he loves to hang out with Duncan, Zak is also an ex-major boozehound who likes to have the occasional drink with a few of his drinking buddies. Among his buddies are Espee, a German Shepherd who has a bit of a temper he's hoping to fix, and Koko, a runty sort of wolf who was accidentally shipped to Frisco and decided to stay with his new friends and the city and its bars, who has been allowed to live around because of Lupus' Miracle Dog Tags. Zak doesn't know Koko isn't supposed to be there because Lupus' Dog Tags resulted in everyone feeling as if Koko was there the whole time.

  Had thought about moving into Charlie's apartment and saw him and Itchy at the Fleabite and had heard about room openings. He hangs around the Fleabite a lot more now that he lives at the apartment, and hangs out with Charlie and Sasha's grandson Duncan.
