Hello, today I'm here to talk a bit about Aleu and Dusty.

A lot of people have opinions of the two of them--some even going as far as to say they're the same.  (But that's obviously not true).

1. Same K9?: This is an easy one.  For those of you who believe Dusty and Aleu are and the same, I have the evidence to prove otherwise.  First of all, if Dusty and Aleu were the same, don't you think they'd have the same name and Balto and Jenna would say hello to their sled-dog daughter along with Kodi?  Also, Aleu joined a wolf pack, which was basically the whole point of Wolf Quest, and wouldn't just leave her pack and return to Nome as a sled dog.

2. Breed: Again, simple.  Aleu is part wolfdog on her father's side and part husky from her mother.  Dusty is a pure husky.

3. Color: Just by color alone, these two don't look alike.  Aleu is more of light tan/whitish cream color, while Dusty is almost a purplish gray and dusty cream color.

4. Fur: As you can see, Aleu's fur seems a lot scruffier than Dusty's, probably due to her wolf heritage; and Dusty's fur seems a lot smoother, most likely due to fact that she's a groomed sled dog.  Whether or not this is a result of the animators is a mystery.

5. Markings: One reason Dusty and Aleu are hard to tell apart for some is because of their almost identical markings.

But, if you look closely, you can see that Aleu's front leg 'socks' are a lot higher up than that of Dusty's.

6. Eyes: This is one of features that set these two apart the most, even if you don't know it.  First of all, Aleu's eyes are diamond-shaped, while Dusty are more squarish.  Also, although their eyes are blue, note that Dusty's pupils are black and Aleu's are dark blue.  Also, the rest of Aleu's eyes are yellow and Dusty's are white.
