Now from the first movie, heres a 'headshot' screenie. It looks like its done by a pro yes? And it is, now lemmie find a link to the Balto 2 headshot screenie I found...

Alright, here it is. Usually, if this picture was done correctly, we'd have some sort of ground in there, and their shoulders/backs and or legs would be in this screenie. However we just get necks and strange heads I might add.

Ok, now in this screenie from Balto 2... we've got the same exact poses for both Balto and Aleu. That just don't work. Now Aleu looks like her chin and chest fur are like, trying to merge together...

On top of that, what the heck is she looking at? AND Nava's eye isn't completely.. y'know formed really. His eyebrow looks like its only half of one. And take a good look at the paws. It looks like some person just squiggled somthing in there to show the toes.

Now this is from Balto, the poses are different, nobodys missing an eye or the chin isn't completely dissolved or anything. Sure Star looks a little deformed but he somtimes does. I don't blame them for that, he's got a wacky head anyways.

Thing is, compairing those two..

Balto two looks like some amatures did it, and Balto looks like some pros really put some hard work into their film.

Okay regardless of the animation I liked the first two movies. The third one was the one that bugged me. The links are also no longer available in the article so I can't accurately judge what the problem is. Either way both movies were a part of my childhood and I don't mind throwing Nostalgia goggles to ignore a few small errors in animation. If anything it's the editors that are to blame for not catching the errors before they went into the final product.

Well, hey, you know, it's hard to draw something the SAME exact way over and over, much less easier to draw them in a different pose and make them move. That just in the artists's defense. Hey, they did a lot better job than me, so for that I give them credit.

okay, this article was hard to understand and follow. But the pic with
Nava in it is just the.....wow. The artists in that movie sucked!
really bad!!!! WQ and WoC TOTALLY ruined Balto. Totally. Ruined. Him.

The reason for this Balto was a an old movie so it looks
pretty good so people well get you interested. The others I
don't think they care.

So true it hurts. I never noticed that in the "screenie" of
Nava, Balto and Aleu. That is sooo icky!( OW MY EYES! I'VE
BEEN SCARRED FOR LIFE! ) I wish the same animators worked on
Balto 2, and 3 for that matter. You make a great point

not being mean OK:
But WHY make a crappy sequeal for a
movie THAT DIDNT attract much attention at the time ANYWAY!
Cause nobodies gonna watch a sequeal, to a movie they didnt
watch! Thats why they didnt make it was good, because t was
for money, and they thought no-one would watch it,but by the
time it was relased,the balto fans were a reather large
number!

good articel first off, and secondly we have all now figured
out that universal doesn't care about Balto. They never
really did... the first one was just to make money it wasn't
really about hte story, and the sequals were just bill
payers perhaps, something to keep them in bussiness and give
them some money to make a new movie other than Balto.
Universal should just sell Balto to a company hwo cares...
then perhaps there will be hope for a realistic Balto
movie... you know with special effects, historicly accurate
story boards, famous actors, and real sled dogs? Just a
little suggestion universal x]

Well that's because the B1 animators actually studied real
huskies and malamutes etc. etc. to get a good grasp of
canine anatomy.
...and the B2 animators couldn't give
squat about how it looked.

I don't like your language. it's not that mine is perfect.
but I spend too much time on figuring out what you're trying
to say 'cause English isn't my mother tounge.

but that's besides the point. the point is, the sequels
are crappy because they have low budget. OR they have budget
but don't want to pay. they thought all animated movies are
for kids and ONLY for kids, which isn't true. and they
thought that kids won't pay attention to some mistakes,
which isn't true, either.

The first will always be the best, hands down. Many
articles have been written about the poor quality of WQ and
WOC, and really, all we can do about it is just hope for
another sequel or perhaps do a project like Greykitty, Cat,
and the others are doing for a Balto micro serise.

BTW, I never noticed how badly drawn that pic of Nava
was. Good catch!
