Balto 2 wolf designs from An Am. 4

Sequel designs from other sequels

FidoPaws :

Hey

I was just watching part of "An American Tail 4: The Mystery of the Night Monster."  It had been awhile since I've seen the movie, which was made in 2000, and I had forgotten that it was another Universal-made sequel.

Besides its own low-budget standing (notice, it borrows music from Land Before Time sequels), I also noticed something that may have likely been part of the inspiration for Balto 2.

As we know, Balto 2 was made in 2002, and most of us weren't pleased with the way the wolves looked.

Anyway, while watching An American Tail 4, I noticed the design for the dog council leader, Lone Wolf.  I apologize for not having a picture available (if I find one I'll post it).  Anyway, the design for Lone Wolf is obviously very similiar to the wolf designs of Balto 2, despite the fact that the movie came out 2 years ahead of time.

Also, the voice of Tanya Mousekewitz is the same voice of Aleu--Lacey Chabert

I just thought it was an interesting topic to bring up.  Although I appreciate the work efforts of all animation studios, I really don't like many of the attempts Universal has attempted at making sequels.  More so I just find it a little annoying of the constant repitition throughout seperate productions.  Sequels tend to be bad enough without copying one sequel from the next.

Black-> You make the comment sound like Balto is from Disney. Balto is Universal, too. A lot of animated films, especially on low budget, will reference animation used for other films. Robin Hood is a prime example. They used a lot of reference animation from the films Snow White and The ArtistoCats. (Mainly for the dancing scene at night, I haven't watched the Robin Hood in a while so I couldn't describe the scene exactly.)

Well I hope your not saying that balto 2 is copying other films. The other films you are talking about are all made by universal. Universal is as famous as disney!
