Maybe the word was ment that Balto's dad had pups with Aniu...like the was describes having pups with a wolf...just a thought from reading this article.

I think that he might either be dead, or just a long way from Nome, Alaska. And, yes, it just could be that he THINKS his father died. They should have a fourth Balto, and in that one, have his father come back and put some of the focus on him. Maybe even explain how the whole making Aniu his mate thing came to be. Sort of a prequel, maybe? Eh eh?

just said past tense because he dosn't see his dad or for any other
reason. I also think they should make another movie featuring his dad

I was reading through the comments when I see Goust wolf's comment.
Buck. The first thing I thought was, Buck... The Call of the Wild! I
continued reading, seeing if anyone knew this....thank you Funky! Glad
someone said it! It is possible that Buck was his father. The Writters
of Balto 1-3 may have chosen Buck for his father. But one thing is
wrong with that statement. I've read the call of the wild, by Jack
London. Doesn't it state that Buck is a St. Bernard? Buck was called
to the wild, were his life called. His pups were then half wolf.....
but, Buck had no coloration close to Balto's. Even with the
possibillties that his mate was Aniu.
It might be possible, if
the writters who chose this haden't read the book.....Cause if you
look at the facts, Buck couldn't have been his father. Buck could have
been the name, but it could not have been Jack London's Buck.

there is no real evidence in the film that saggests balto s
father is dead maybe baltos father abandoned baltos mother
and him.and was never seen again and because baltos father
was a husky maybe aniu decided that she wanted her pups to
grow up soemwhere else.also aniu must have had more than 1
puppy in just 1 litter.it a mystery oR MAYBE balto got lost
when he was a young pup.
