Mixed origin or insult.

About Steele and his "friends".

:

Okay, we all know this nasty scene: Steele and his minions bullied Balto and banished him: "Half-wolf in the side pocket there!". However, at this stage there is something curious. Let's look at it.

Later I will say something about Steele.

Nikki, Kaltag and Star just laugh along with Steele. But when he leaves, Nikki says quite amusing phrase:

– That son of a wolf...  (Nikki)
– ...He's the most malicious, the most disgusting, obnoxious, the most revolting, the most repulsive... (Kaltag)
– He is no lap dog. (Star)

This random dialogue has a number of questions. What Nikki wanted to say? What did he mean?

There is no doubt that Nikki said this phrase aside Steele. First, they're very angry looking at their boss. Secondly, Nikki closes his mouth with his paw, turning to Kaltag. So it is not clear who exactly was meant by the word "the wolf" - male or female (Steele's mother or father).

What then: Steele is part-wolf or was it just an insult from "true friends"?

It would make sense. For example, all dogs afraid of him and grovel before him because Steele is stronger than them and can easily kill them, because he has the blood of a wild animal. Or this: Steele is never afraid of Balto (although Balto is half-breed) and quietly attacks him. There are two options: Steele is a dog with pathologies, or Steele is half-wolf. In addition, he is very similar to the wolf  (much more than Balto). Small ears, a long muzzle, neck and withers, the shape of the body, tail and legs (not paws). I'm serious. I corrected the some of the features in the model sheet and added some profiles. Look.

I gave him wolfish markings on paws and face. Isn't it a real wolf, is it?

I know that Steele is the Siberian Husky. I prefer to think that it was just an insult (that is to say we have analogical phrase as "you son of a ..."; that is, profanity, carrying crude expression for to insult of man and his mother). It also highlights the fact that the trio are simple flatterers, who are chasing celebs for glory, but when celebrities stop being celebrities, these sycophants throw them and flee to seek other popular people. By the way, in the early design Steele is more like a dog, but arrogance and chauvinism have already emerged.

— Let the half-dog run. (Nikki)

And now back to Steele (here Steele is the wolf with dog's blood). Do not use this drawing. Personally, I think it would be much better if Steele was half-wolf, while Balto was just mongrel. Firstly, the main villain would be more danger and wildness. He looks more creepy, threatening, intimidating, dangerous and wild. In addition, we would have worried about Balto much stronger. In addition, with such a role Steele could be positioned  as ruthless and merciless beast, smart and sly hypocrite and severe enemy. Who felt the call of the wild ancestors, the wolves. Especially in the scene of the fight. A dog-hero against distraught and cruel wolf-dog crossbreed (in the movie, I was furious that Wolfdog can not win in a fight with a weak dog. And Balto does not evades from blows. weakling and a wimp). When an ordinary dog does not resist (and doesn't afraid) and safely on an equal goes against the wolfdog which is more aggressive and stronger and can easily kill the fragile body of Balto. It is much more bold and reckless act (in the cartoon is it just silly when the wolfdog can not and does not want to fight with some husky). Thus, the main character, the dog, would have great respect (I will not tolerate when a wolf, a noble host of the northern forests, was made as molluscous and spineless pacifist). It would be the great villain.

Or it would have been the leader of the wolf pack.

However, some people may say, "If Steele is half wolf, why he mocks on his own kind". First, Steele is very angry and envious. Balto is much faster than him, but Balto very sensitive to own mixed heritage. Secondly, Steele enjoys everything that was given to him. He plays on the feelings. He knows the weaknesses of their potential rivals. That's why.
In addition, it is the most simple psychology. People scoff at others to hide their own inferiority or their own shame. For example, Voldemort (the main antagonist) in a series of books about Harry Potter, tried to destroy everyone ordinary people and half-bloods (who was half man and half magician). Although, the main villain was, too, a half-blood, but he carefully concealed it and hated all only because of his own imperfection.

Thanks for reading.

Why are we still continuing about this? Your question has been answered already (which should have been obvious from the get-go).

Drop it already. You're making a bigger deal out of this than what it's worth.

I can not understand one thing. Why send me links about real animals, if I wrote about a character from the movie? Do you think I'm so stupid and do not see any difference between wolves and dogs?! First, at the beginning of this article, I wrote that I prefer to position Nikki's phrase as an insult. Secondly, I just found it interesting (that Steele could be Wolfdog) and explain why I found this idea quite interesting. I respect the opinions of others, but I become irritable when someone writes to me the opposite of theme.

I think it's safe to say that Steele is purebred. All the evidence in the movie points to that except for speculation, which really isn't evidence at all. Besides, the fact that he was called a "son of a wolf" doesn't really tell us much. If they were talking about Steele, so what? People call each other sons of female dogs all the time, but it's safe to ay they don't actually believe it (unless they're really, really stupid).

God of Blancblack Castle
it's confirmed in a video that the artists (or writers? i'm not sure i'm on point here, but anyways) have stated that steele is officially a purebred alaskan malamute. :)
on a totally different note, i like your image edit into turning him into a wolfish character. an interesting theory, but it isn't official. it's nice that you're being creative with this, but i really don't think it was necessary for an article. no offense though, hehe.

Go ahead and write it to someone else and do not touch me. I do not need your "help". I just wrote an article. But no. Fanatics will be secured and will spend my time and their.

I'm not going to be lured into a lengthy debate with you, byanca. Because I find that, each time, it's been utterly pointless, fruitless and exasperating. Mighty already provided all of the information you need. I suggest you look to that.

Do you call this "help"? In that case, just show where mistakes were made. And what do you mean by "basis in the design and storylines of the Balto movies"?

The problem here, as Mighty points out, is that your theories and conclusions have no basis in the design and storylines of the Balto movies (in ANY of your articles). You go off on wild tangents, you are excessively wordy in your articles, your work is difficult to understand because of your poor English usage and, when someone points out where you've likely erred in your thinking, you respond with defensive acrimony. Every time Mighty has tried to help you, you respond that way. And the same when I've tried.

The information Mighty provided is very accurate and would resolve a lot of the questions you posed (albeit confusingly) in this latest article. If you're going to post articles or other material on the site, you had better be prepared for the fact that people are going to comment on them, and might disagree with you or present a different perspective.

For material about dogs and wolves, of course, thank you. But I already read a lot about wolves and other wild animals. I learned a lot. Just as you once said "family cartoon", then what is the point to study animals. The authors used these animals to enhance realism. I know all the differences between wolves and dogs, but in the cartoon all this is minimized.

I'm not an "ignorant bully". I simply offered you some material to read to educate yourself on dogs and wolves.

I think you're getting worked up over nothing here.

I share my opinions with others. And I am pleased when someone reads and asks. And let me ask a question:Would You be pleased if you write articles and you share the opinion, but the site has an arrogant bully, which spoil yours mood when he did nothing and did not write here?

Why do you read attentively? You would have said that what I say does not make sense! Why have you left for me those links ?! I focused specifically on the character. Well, then all that you say is meaningless. I'll just ignore it.

What Nikki said was indeed a censored insult. I can't say fully here what the phrase is suppose to say, but I will say it really isn't article worthy (and again, over-analyzing). This may have been better off asked a question.

Steele is NOT a wolf, nor does he even look like one marking or build-wise. Steele is supposedly an Alaskan Malamute, and his markings are what they call a "blaze". At least that's what I would could categorize him as.

I don't really feel like going into depth here since this entire article is irrelevant. But I'll finish up here by providing you a link to information that explains the difference between wolf and dog. http://yamnuskawolfdogsanctuar [...] ences-between-wolves-and-dogs/
