Do you think that Nikki, Kaltag and Star are somewhat afriad of being around Steele 'cause he likes to bully others to get what he wants? Like when Balto over threw Steele for leadership of the team to take the medicine back, Star puts the harness in his mouth to give to Balto. Balto accepts his kidness but also beign respected as the new leader of the team.

Kaltag alwasy seems to switch sides too. I think at first he really was on Steele's side but after Balto overthrew Steele, he starts cheering for Balto like when he caught the medicine from falling off the cliff from Steele trying to make him loose track of where he was going. Kaltag actually cheered! He says 'That was the most amazing, phoneminal....'He was about to say but then Star says 'Thats good!' Kaltag pushes Star to the ground after that.

But Nikki on the other hand, I think he remained on Steele's side. Even though he did somewhat cheer with Kaltag and Star, I still say he is still on Steele's side since he wasn't excited about Balto becoming the new leader. Kaltag at first didnt like Balto being the new leader either but he quickly accepted his leadership. But I truly think that Nikki remains very loyal to Steele, he just didnt want to feel left out that Kaltag  and Star was cheering him.

Please tell me what you think, but I jsut had to get this off my chest. I hope nobody ever did an article like this I might post pics later to to show you what I think....

Yeah, all three I think were afraid of him. BUT, one of them was brave enough to say things in front of him sometimes, Star. Kaltag and Nikki never said a word in front of him to try and stay loyal, and like Riley said, 'cool'. Ever notice though, when Steele started howling to spite Balto's mother, Star actually backed down and looked very scared, until he realised he wasn't gonna get hurt. I still love star though, he's my favourite cartoon character. ^^

Yeah, you're pretty much right about that. In the movie, they obviously followed Steele around at the beginning, but later on you see that the three of them don't actually like Steele at all. After they're done kicking snow at Balto and Borris, the three of them start talking trash about Steele after he leaves. They only hung around him to be "cool." On the other hand, it was true that both Nikki and Kaltag didn't like Balto either because of his half-wolf quality. Star, I don't think really cared about Balot's origion. He was just following the in-crowd. After Balto overthrows Steele, however, the three of them do warm up to him.

I don't think that Nikki Kaltag and Star ever really liked Steele. Remember the part after the scene in the alley? After steele walks away, nikki says: that son of a-- and then kaltag calls steele malitious, obnoxious, disgusting, repulsive, ect. and star says: he's no lap dog! but they're still friends with him. idk why though.

I think that you have a pretty decent point. I mean, I think that Kaltag was "switching sides" for the same reaosn that Nikki stayed on Steeles' side: he was faraid of getting hurt if Steele came back. But after they all realized that he was gone for good, they liked Balto. Good job

I never really thought of that. And maybe Nikki is afraid too, and thats why he stayed "loyal"-so if Steele came back, he won't get hurt or any thing. well basicly I think your right.

I get what you mena girl. I didn't seem to notice that in the movie at all lately. But that's very interesting! But when they were cheering for both of them, Steele at first then Balto, that boggled my mind for a bit.

yeah... it was kinda obvious how they felt about him in the movie. They were too afraid to say they thought he was a looser to his face. If even shows that when they talk about him behind his back after he threw a rock at Balto.

personally I think they are afraid that Steele might hurt them if they didn't do what Steele wanted to see. As for Nikki, He said yes when Kaltag said bad things about Steele in his back. I think it's about that all of the trio hates Steele. 2 of them accepted Balto almost immediately. Nikki took longer time to accept Balto.
