Dislikes: When Kodlak attempts to make his own plans, blizzards, most humans, not being able to solve something, coming up with a bad plan, feeling dumb, failing, letting Kodlak down.

Personality: Smart, obviously quiet a bit more than his brother. Modest, quiet, quick-thinking, a bit judgmental of those he thinks are below his intelligence or below Kodlak's strength, calm, level-headed, has energy but isn't overly energetic, fairly kind, learns fast. He's very logical and is usually the one that discovers new things and creates things. Unlike his brother, he gets worked up easily, especially if someone insults Kodlak, or Kulak's own intelligence, he's sometimes skeptical and very loyal.

History

Kodlak and Kulak where born one cold brutal winter. Their parents took care of the tiny pups however. Even when he was a newborn, Kodlak was quiet a bit on the dull side, this weakness made his highly dependent on his mother, which made him very close to her. Kulak was different however, he was independent and smart enough to care for himself. Care for himself as much as a pup could at the time. The boys grew as the winter raged on. Their father went out on a hunt during a wild snowstorm and didn't return. They could only assume he had been lost to the cold. 

Their mother became even more protective over her sons, she managed to keep them alive through the winter though she had become weak because she ate very little and gave what food she could get to her pups. Once spring came their mother was able to teach her sons how to hunt, however, she soon after gave into her poor state of health and passed away.The boys where left orphaned and a young age, but the two had learned enough to survive on their own. Together the brothers grew up on their own, Kulak usually formed strategic plans on their hunts while Kodlak carried out the physical part of the plan.

As they grew into their adult years the two embarked on their own. They began traveling the wilderness together, never staying in one place too long. Kulak was very happy with their life traveling together, he loved his brother and could think of no better life than one of freedom with his brother. One day however, Kulak became separated from Kodlak after a hunt.

Kulak always got worried when he couldn't keep an eye on his brother, because he knew how much trouble he could get in when he wasn't being watched. He found his brother soon after, Kodlak had managed to anger a mother bear and had to be rescued by a wolf-dog. 

Kodlak wanted to travel with her, even though Kulak could tell she didn't care for his brother's presence. Kulak tried to talk his brother out of the idea, but Kodlak insisted on it. Kulak did not want to travel with the new comer like his brother, so he let Kodlak go on his own journeys while he set off to live his own life.

Relation to Balto: After separating from his brother, who went to travel with the granddaughter of Dusty, Ralph, Aleu, and Niju. He ended up temporarily residing in the forest on the outskirts of Nome.
