Personality: She is bright and good-natured, but has her moments were she can become irritable. She is curious, and loyal, a good friend. She will stand up for what she believes in, and will make friends with the underdog, instead of the popular ones. She is helpful and sweet, but can be hotheaded at times, and stubborn. She is slightly goofy, and will make comments she wished she hadn't later. She doesn't care much about her appearance, and tries to see the good in people, but sometimes can't help seeing the bad. She is afriad to recognize her faults, but eventually will. She is brave, but prefers words instead of violence.

History: She was born a normal pup in a normal litter, just outside of Nome, in a small town. She grew up with Hiro, and was out with her parents when a rare earthquake triggered an avalanche. She was only 5 months old at the time, and was terrified. Her brother had already been caught in it, and Akari was frozen, unable to move. Her mother rushed in front of her, and pushed her out of the way, into a safe ravine. She sacrificed her life to save her daughter.

Her father survived, and she cared for him as he eventually became ill. When she was 9 months old, he died, leaving her alone in the world. She stumbled out of the cave that was their home, unable to see her father's dead body any longer. She ran to Nome, where she met a kindly malamute named Aiko, who taught her how to live on the streets. Aiko was only a few months older than Akari was, and they became close friends.

Akari made many other friends. and soon the terrors and fears of losing these close friends fading, replaced by happiness. She eventually decided she wanted to live in a home, and was adopted by a a nine-year-old girl. SHe still escaped the house often, and walked around with her friends, but was glad she had a home, where she finally belonged.
