Personality: She is usually happy but can seem like she wants to run away and hide from the world. She gets angry easily. She gets very clumsy when she is nervous. She can also seem very shy to those she doesn't know but she can be very loud around her friends.

History: She was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 1922. Her owner was a local hunting dog breeder. A few days after Aušra was born, on February 20, 1922, after the highly contested election in Central Lithuania, the entire area was annexed by Poland, with the city becoming the capital of the Wilno Voivodship (Wilno being the name of Vilnius in Polish). Kaunas then became the temporary capital of Lithuania. A year later, the Klaipeda Region was acquired during the Klaipeda Revolt of 1923. The man soon fled the country, taking his dogs with him. He and the dogs boarded a ship to the States to escape the horrors of the Revolt. The ship arrived at Ellis Island in New York Harbor, and the man passed inspection. The dogs however, had to be given away, though the man didnt want to let go of one in particular, one he had named Aušra. After much reasoning and persuasion, the island agents let the man keep her with him, while the others had to be given away. The man, over the next few months, traveled the U.S. looking for a job, and found one in Alaska, as a hunting-dog breeder. He set up in Nenana, and it didnt do well the first few weeks, then business picked up. Aušra was just a pet, and was not allowed near the breeding area. Aušra was soon given away to a new friend of the man's who lived in Nome. Aušra soon adjusted to town life. She often explored the town, meeting the local dogs, making friends, even gaining a few crushes, Steele among them. Aušra always felt uneasy and uncomfortable around him; she was scared of him. Aušra always avoids him. She keeps close to others so when Steele shows up she can feel safe. Now, in 1925, Aušra is starting to have feelings for some of her male friends (excluding Steele, of course). She doesn't know who to go for.
