Why she has this name?: Embry named her after the Native American sport due to her speed and aggression when it came to anything that involved competition.

Personality: Even though the best words for her would be trouble-maker she is only so great as causing problems because she's clever and strategic. She can be noted for both her mischievous behavior and her intelligence. Since she's a popular dog in Nome she's very social, friendly, and fun-loving, often being too flirty for her own good and easily leads people on without meaning to. She's also one to take to dominance and leadership in any situation, therefore becoming competitive and some-what bossy, but only because she's a natural leader. She's also very head-strong and due to her rebellious side she really doesn't listen to direct commands well. And also, due to her dynamic social life, she is good at convincing crowds and even lying. She carries herself with a general-like essence with a strong, dominate, confident flare. 

Appearance: Her colors are similar to Kaltag's but she has her mother's markings when it comes to her blaze, socks, and darker lines around her tail and stomach. She does have Kaltag's patches around her eyes though. Her eyes are a grayish/greenish blue on a white backdrop. Her tail doesn't curl as tight as a normal husky's but instead curls in a loose curl. She also has a tuft of fur on her forehead and has an athletic appearance. She wears a blue collar given to her by Embry as well.

Build: When rendering drawing she has a Kaltag-like body and a Balto head without as much fur and a slightly "curved" nose line.

History

Crosse was born to Kaltag and Reyna, two dogs who met by their favorite hobby, sled-racing. As Kaltag, on Steele's team, entered a small race in Anchorage he met a wolf dog named Reyna. It turned out that Reyna was actually Balto's half-sister but the two never knew and still don't know. Reyna was a sassy, snarky wheel dog who was thought to hate all males, until she saw Kaltag. The two were perfect, arguing and constantly out-doing one another. After their race Steele's team was beat by Reyna's and Kaltag gained even more respect for his new crush. The team's musher kept Steele's team in Anchorage for near a year for further training and more racing opportunities. It was in that time when Reyna had Kaltag's pups. 

There were five pups in their litter, four boys and one girl. The girl was given the name Anna, after Kaltag's deceased mother. As Anna grew in a pack of boys she actually learned to be tough as nails and was so wild that some wolves would be intimidated by her untamed side. Between all of her brothers she also learned that they were easy to out-smart and caused all kinds of mischief with the help of her now, subordinate brothers. When it came time for Kaltag to leave he did so and left Reyna abruptly, which left the female angry and she tended to hold a grudge. 

After a bad incident Anna and her brothers had caused. (The destruction of the mayor's Thanksgiving feast) It was time for the pups to be separated in new homes, preferably in other cities, towns, states, or countries requested by the mayor. Anna sadly watched as her brother's were slowly sold off to mushers in search of strong wheel dogs built like her powerful brothers. None really wanted the rambunctious Anna, all except for a runaway nineteen year old named Embry, who fell for the rebellious dog to match his own streak. 

The two quickly became inseparable and Embry left Anchorage with his puppy and took her to the small town he was in search of, Nome. Embry had run from his tribe in Canada after his alcoholic father had abused him. The only living thing Embry ever trusted again was Anna, who he quickly re-named Lacrosse. See his tribe, the Algonquian, were the creators of the sport "lacrosse" which is probably most known for being a fast-paced and aggressive sport, which seemed perfect for Embry's little spitfire pup. 

Once in Nome Lacrosse, nicknamed Crosse, still caused as many problems as she had before but now Embry seemed not to care. Therefore she reeked havoc on Nome until Embry ran out of the little money he had stolen from his dad before running away. Then he had to find a job, fast, and get his next paycheck before being kicked onto the streets. It was during that time when Crosse became really independent and often dug through trash and hunted small prey for food. With Embry struggling to find a job he sadly sold his beloved dog to Nome's small school's teacher, Miss Leanna Potts. Miss Potts took Crosse to school with her everyday and called her by Crosse to please Embry, who she had a quiet respect for. 

She lived like this for only a few months because she got into trouble again and Miss Potts violently scolded her, which broke Crosse's spirit for a while which she lived on the streets and hung out with Dusty, Kirby, and Ralph. It was Ralph who got her interested in racing when he pushed to cheer his friend up. After gaining curiosity in the sport Crosse discovered that Embry had gotten a job as a sled team's "Scout." He would hike ahead of mail/ supply teams to check for any dangers ahead on the trail, a dangerous and needed job for the growing dangerous paths around Alaska. 

One day Crosse approached Embry, now an entire year older than before she was afraid he wouldn't recognize her but he did. Embry was euphoric when he found his old friend and soon she was joining him on his scouting jobs. She would lead the team, and sometimes Embry, through dark forests and icy paths. It was then when she earned her collar, which Embry gave to her as a constant symbol that Crosse was his dog. Now Crosse travels all around with Embry, lives in Nome for the remainder of the time, and enjoys life as a popular dog around Nome.
