Characteristics

• Personality: Izaya is a very swift and cunning dog. He's always one to have tricks up his figurative sleeve, and he's a quick thinker. He has many different strategies for plans already all lined up in a matter of moments. Izaya is very cocky, almost getting himself killed numerous of occasions. He isn't very careful and doesn't watch his tongue. He can be dangerously aggressive to those he hates, and starts a lot of fights. However, despite this, Izaya is very gentle and caring to those he loves. Not many get to experience this, a rare lucky few being his nephew Hale, and his partner Malcolm. He makes a point in standing up for the weak to gain allies and appear to be a "good guy".

• Talents/ Abilities: Izaya is able to quickly calculate when a certain thing will happen and when. He's a quick thinker and he's highly intelligent, beyond the average dog. He's also known to be charming and seductive and he knows just how to get his way. He's even charmed or instilled fear into some of his enemies who turned themselves into allies.
• Weaknesses: Izaya isn't physically strong. He doesn't have any muscle and he's not very tall in comparison to average dogs. He's more of the size of a male Siberian Husky and that doesn't benefit him at all. He also is known to make promises and never fully go through with them, and his memory isn't the best. He also doesn't put in any effort in making amends with his family and apparently prefers to be rivals with them instead.
• Dreams: Izaya needs to be in the center of attention a lot, so he dreams of having a significant amount of followers. He thinks he needs to be perfect and well known.
• Fears: Izaya is terrified of losing Malcolm, Hale, and his popularity. But he doesn't make this heard of in order to appear as if he doesn't have any weak points.

History

• Izaya was the firstborn pup in a litter of five to Day and Ashur. Izaya was the most clever and playful pup, making up new games and having a good time. He would cheat a lot during these games though, and found out that winning was a really good feeling. He seemed to have a good relationship with all of his siblings when he was little. His mother was nice enough and his father seemed okay, but not too interested in his pups aside from his only daughter, Sydney. The family moved to Nome when the pups were a few months old. However, they got the complete opposite of a warm welcome. Nome's dogs were mostly purebreds and they were absolutely repulsed at mixed breeds. Most of them would treat Izaya and his siblings like trash. Izaya was shocked at first, but learned to brush it off. He swore he'd get back at them when he was older. When the pups were to be adopted, Izaya was the first to go.

• Izaya was adopted by Nome's Rescue Department as the people immediately recognized the pup's intelligence and quick responses. Izaya had his tail docked when he arrived. The other dogs there seemed friendly enough, especially a sweet female named Louise. Izaya seemed to be a bit shy himself though, so he was one of the quieter dogs at the station along with Louise's brother, Malcolm. The two barely spoke to each other, but Izaya understood him the most. Izaya started working and starting off everything nicely, but then he began to grow progressively lazier by the day. Even though he was lazy, walking back home with rescued people and sled teams was an empowering feeling as even the dogs who made fun of him for being a mixed breed stared in awe. This encouraged Izaya to make himself known. He was older now, and he could fend for himself. He found himself having a new attitude laced with sarcasm, wit, and a lust for authority. He stood up for himself more, and protected a brown wolfdog named Balto from the black and white beast known as Steele. The two became great friends after that. However, he was still a bit lonely, and he wanted to try to connect with the ones he could trust the most again.
• In about a week, he managed to locate where all of his family was. His father had seemed to develop a newfound hate for him as he realized how successful his son had become and he wanted nothing to do with him. Izaya didn't really care though and laughed in his face. Mercer had turned into quite the gem as well, as he became a rotten pessimistic dog who had nothing to say but insults. Izaya hated him off the bat upon meeting him again and made a point in threatening him to not get in his way. Dare was quiet and isolated and hid himself a lot, which Izaya found pathetic, but he wanted to help his brother come out of his shell. He introduced him to Balto who helped him become a little less shy, but aside from that, Izaya didn't pay him any mind. He also introduced Blake to Balto, but it appeared that Blake already knew him. It was kind of awkward as Izaya found out that Blake was apart of Steele's gang before and helped bully him. But at least things were different now, and Blake and Balto put that behind them and became friends. Izaya disliked Blake though after finding out that he did that. And Sydney was busy with sledding and work. She was happy to see Izaya again, and despite the fact that she had a crush on Steele, Izaya tolerated her and still loved her. Day was nowhere to be found. With this information, Izaya chose his family and decided Sydney was the only one who was nice to be around.​

• One day, Izaya found a small puppy wandering around. He looked a lot like him, and he was alone, so he stopped to ask if he was okay and if he wanted him to take him home. The pup introduced himself as Hale, Mercer's son. He didn't seem to have a mother. Izaya could barely believe his ears. He asked if he wanted to come to the station and hang out there for awhile instead. The pup willingly agreed, as it seemed that he didn't like being at home too badly. Over a week, Hale decided he liked staying with Izaya over staying with Mercer. Izaya started calling him his "kid" and the two had a close father and son relationship. Many of the females admired this and Izaya was a topic which was gossiped about a lot. He really enjoyed this popularity, and made sure to keep up this good name. He started protecting more and more halfbreeds from rude purebreds and gaining "allies". He made sure that Hale was in check with being nice to everyone despite their breed, and Hale was growing into quite the respectful young man. Though the fun had came to a halt when Mercer decided he wanted to take Hale back. Izaya refused and told him to go to hell. Mercer was passive about it, but he seemed like he was "glad" to know that his son was alright.

• Izaya kept his title for as long as he was alive. He was still the lazy dog he was years before, but his rival with Steele began to thicken over those years. Izaya always seemed to have the upperhand though, as many more dogs preferred him and he had a much sharper tongue. One particular day, Izaya found him and three of his followers bullying his teammate, Malcolm. Furious, Izaya lunged in, and managed to get Steele and the others to back off. He became close friends with Malcolm as he stood up against Steele with him, even more so than his other followers. He had his close friends and family; Malcolm, Balto, and Hale. And they were all he needed.

• Soon, a tragic Diptheria outbreak took place. Many children were dying from the terrible illness, and Steele and his team were sent out to retrieve the medicine. Izaya was a little apathetic about it, but he understood why everyone was depressed and overwhelmed. He wasn't at all surprised to find out that Balto went to return the medicine as he knew how determined and strong willed he was. Nonetheless, he worried for the hybrid's safety. Upon waiting, he'd go to Jenna's house and stay with her to comfort her, and occasionally his brother Blake tagged along. When Steele arrived without the medicine, Izaya demanded to know where Balto was. Steele told him that he'd died, but Izaya didn't believe him. He smirked and walked away, knowing his friend would return safely.
• Sure enough, Balto returned with Steele's team. The town was overjoyed and the victims of Diptheria were treated instantly. Balto was a hero, and Izaya was proud of him. Steele's followers realized how bad of a canine he was and abandoned him, and Izaya and Malcolm drove him out of Nome.
• Izaya still lives at the Rescue Department and is seen frequently spending time with his followers and of course Hale, Malcolm, and Balto.

• Trivia: Sydney is the only sibling that Izaya likes in his family. He would often play with her when they were pups because she was left out for being a girl. Izaya liked his brother Blake for awhile til he joined Steele's gang and never really found it in him to like him again even when Blake realized it was wrong. Despite helping Dare become friends with Balto, he finds him rather pathetic and dislikes his nature.

• Relation to Balto: Has a huge rivalry with Steele and saved Balto from getting hurt by him. Is good friends with Balto.
