Personality: Jade is not the easiest canine to get along with. She's incredibly sharp-witted, sarcastic, and cunning. Her wolfish instincts have been sharpened due to her traveling nature and intense voyages over the wild tundra lands of Alaska and parts of Canada. In addition, she's fiercely competitive and physically capable of accomplishing what most both males and females would find challenging. Being alone for most of her life, she doesn't always know how to react around others, and can be a little conceited and self-absorbed at times.

Dislikes: drama, flaky or delicate female dogs, losing, being called inferior

Background:

     Jade was born in the middle of nowhere to two wolfdogs. She resembled more of the domestic genes of both,but has the physical and mental qualities and shrewdness of a wolf. She spent the first few years of her life simply trying to stay alive. Her distant travels took her far from Canada to the arctic circle, to the Alaskan wilderness, and eventually Nome. During her voyage, she met an unfriendly monster of a bear, whom she unintentionally provoked and inticed into trailing her with vows of death onto the conniving wolfdog.

     Jade seeks accompaniment and shelter from the terrible bear in Nome with the protection of people. There, she unexpectedly runs into Steele on the acclaimed night of Balto's arrival with the medicine. Finding no one else to call friend, Steele eventually bonds with her and allows the stranger to help him take on a new attitude to find a place in his former friends' hearts again. But this doesn't happen until after Steele attempts to use Jade to lure Balto in order for Steele to make his last appearance to Jenna. The trying events unfold when Steele unlocks the mystery that this new stranger is actually part wolf. After a clash of emotions, he finally finds it in his heart to accept wolfdog hybrids, and starts a friendship with both Jade and Balto.

Relation to Balto: Jade is Steele's mate, Jenna and Balto's close friend, and a member of Nome's society.
