Personality: He is slightly dogmatic, philosophical, wary, modest, tactful, protective, and urbane. Also gregarious but can seem detached sometimes. He is not easily fooled. He's reasonable, good-natured, sometimes stubborn but mostly with good intentions, adaptable, courageous, gutsy, and funny at times.

He was born in Astoria, Oregon, in 1918, and was owned by the head of a local fur trading company called the Pacific Fur Company. The man died of pneumonia when Kamus was 2 years old. A few weeks later, he ran away. He wandered into a shipping port many miles from Astoria. He smelled meat on one of the ships, so he slipped in through a porthole, and tried to find the meat. He soon did, in the ship's galley. He soon felt the floor slightly vibrating; little did he know that the ship was being pulled away from the dock. A few weeks later, the ship docked in a port near Nome. Kamus got off and explored this new place. He later adjusted to life in Nome. He is a stray, and eats what he can to survive, even if he has to steal meat from the butcher. At night he sleeps wherever he can. Later, he fell in love with a beautiful wolfdog named Carolina, whom he loves and protects.
