Personality: She is very easily distracted. She is curious and likes to explore a lot. She has a dry sense of humor and is very sarcastic, but isn't mean about it. She rarely expresses emotion but when she does it's minimal. She is really shy, and can take a long time to warm up to someone before she will talk to them. Can seem detached sometimes.

History: She was born in Singaraja on the island of Bali, Indonesia, in 1921. Her owner was a respected vulcanologist on the island. He traveled the world studying volcanoes, and took Kasarna along. Around the beginning of December 1922, he heard from some of his sources about some activity in a volcano in Alaska, so he went there to study it. The volcano was about 585 miles from Anchorage, and was on the Alaskan Peninsula. The volcano was called Pavlof. He got there a few days before the first real major eruption. He spent the first few days setting up the gear and photography equipment. A couple days later, it erupted. On the evening of December 24, there were, according to a 1955 publication, "'flames' reached a height of 2,000 feet above the volcano that lighted the village of Belkofsky the evening of December 24, 1922, and 'flames' were again reported in the winter of 1923. ", and in a 1923 Associated Press article was described "On Christmas eve, 1922, Pavlof volcano, on the Alaskan Peninsula, was in eruption and lava flows for several days thereafter, with a heavy emission of smoke for a longer period. ". When he was finished with his studies and documentation, he headed to Nome, from where the ship back to Indonesia was to depart. He spent overnight in Nome. When he got to the docks after leaving Nome, there was a delay to due a mechanical breakdown in the engine room, and it would take a while to fix. So the man returned to Nome. A few weeks later, the repair was done, and the ship was nearly ready for departure. Kasarna had run off during the night, and the man couldn't find her, so he returned to the ship, and sailed back to Indonesia. Kasarna remained in Nome, not knowing where her owner went. Now she is used to town life, and already has a few friends.
