Personality: Kyfer, is sly and very down to Earth. He seems to just roll with the punches in life. He's not one to impress those around them, take him as he is or not; he don't mind. He doesn't crave attention or to make a good image of himself which is why he doesn't care what others think of him. He's not really bothered by his wolf heritage unlike most if his siblings.

History:

Kyfer was the next pup born in Balto and Jenna's second litter of puppies.  When the pups grew to be adolescents, most of them grew to be very competitive towards each other. To see who was the fastest when they would race or the strongest when they would rough-house. When one of the puppies proved better than the other, they would get extremely upset towards each other and work themselves very hard and strive to come out on top. Kyfer was the complete opposite of his siblings. He wasn't as competitive as his siblings and after observing the results of what competition did to them (which was pushing themselves too hard to be the best) he never liked to compete from there on. Also he didn't care if he won or lost at a race, or if he was just play-fighting with his brothers, what mattered the most to him was that he simply had fun, and he hoped that his siblings did as well.

Balto loved all of his kids so much, but...he slowly realized that he found Kyfer to be his favorite. He was never selfish and he never put himself first or strive to be better than anyone else. The one thing that Kyfer was very good at, was to be himself. Balto sadly predicted the future of his other sons, not only to be big, strong, and fast, but also selfish, self centered, and egotistical. They would gain praise in both humans and other dogs, but they will put others down and break many hearts of a lot of those who will admire them. Balto had great faith in his favorite son, and he knew that he will never disappoint him.

By the time the pups grew up to be adults, it was mushing season. Mushers were quickly trying to find faster dogs for their teams. It was the perfect moment for Balto's kids. Ever since they were puppies, they had worked very hard for this moment. Most of them were lean and very built. The ideal lead-dog for a sled team. Almost every musher was trying to get a hold of "the red dogs from the hybrid that saved Nome." Kyfer's siblings were lucky enough to be the first ones chosen. Kyfer, however was not so fortunate since he was still one without a team or a home. One musher who wanted one of Balto's red dogs found that Kyfer wasn't really what he expected out of a sled dog, let alone lead-dog. He was smaller and scrawny compared to the rest of his brothers. The musher didn't care, nor did he stop and think of a reason to not adopt Kyfer and have him as lead-dog. This winded up to be a huge mistake in the end.

The day for the first sled race of the season finally arrived. All of the mushers were proud to have their dog's in their teams, all except Kyfer's musher who kept comparing his (Kyfer's) size to the other lead-dog's of the other teams. He found that his lead-dog didn't look so promising, yet he still had high expectations of him. Again this ended up to be a huge mistake, for Kyfer's sled-team lost the first race. This made his musher very angry and curse with his every being to the world. Finally he sharply turned towards Kyfer, grabbed his whip, and walked up to the poor, red, husky-hybrid. All he could do was lower his ears, and brace himself to the awful pain that was coming to him. After a few whips of sharp pain to the thigh, Kyfer had enough and had gotten loose from his sled harness. His musher did all he can to keep him escaping, but he had luck on his side at that moment and he managed to get away quickly. This was why Kyfer never liked competing, because it would always result into something not good.

The wounded husky-hybrid ran as fast as he could and as far as he could, away from that musher. All he knew was that he never wanted to go back. The night was settling in and he managed to find a small cabin in the forest. He was so tired and so scared that he is was willing to sleep away from town. He felt safer that way. He walked up to the porch of the cabin and rested in front of the door. His eyes got heavy and he would fall asleep with a broken heart, and a broken spirit. Suddenly a large, warm, ray of light swept across him and immediately woke him up. The door was opened, and what it looked like to be more humans walked up to him. Kyfer was hoping that these people wouldn't hurt him, but it turns out these people were not bad at all. They gently pat his head to reassure him that they won't hurt him. Then they picked him up and brought him inside their home. These were the natives of the town ,and they treated him differently compared to the time he was a sled dog. In the end Kyfer found himself a loving home and instead of being a sled-dog, he was now a working dog that carries big game and firewood. He hopes that one day he can go back to the nearby town of Nome to visit his family again.
