Personality:
Maito is a very head strong and boistrous wolfdog, he takes pride in everything he does and wont stand to see his loved ones being hurt or saddened. He is a real hero and very popular amongst the other sled dogs, male and female. Maito is loyal but does have a goofy, easy-going side which he only shows around his mate and some of his close friends. He has a short temper though which can easily be triggered by many things, which is one reason he loses friends. Maito is usually laid-back and un-shallow but can be two-faced when with his real friends, or the jocks.

History:
Maito was born from Balto and Jenna, he was an adventurous and annoying pup, always yearning for attention. If he didnt get it, he would fight, bit, kick, scratch and bark until he got it. He was extremely close with one particular brother, Elijah. Elijah and Maito were two peas in a pod and never apart. Maito soon found that Elijah was picked on by most other pups so he decided to step in, he was a rather big pup for his age and managed to scare off all the other pups that were harassing Elijah. When Maito was 4 months old, it was time to be adopted out. Most of his siblings had been adopted out and it was now Maito's turn to find a home. A handsome young man by the name, jamie was planning to adopt maito who in his eyes, was full of potential. But a greasy, obiece man beat jamie to it. This mans name was Joe and he seemed nice enough so Maito politely went with him.

A few weeks had past and Maito was starting to have trouble fitting in, Joe had three other dogs who were fit and strong, and frankly, didnt like Maito one bit. They picked on Maito for hours on end and it only got worse when Joe began to beat Maito for what maito thought was no reason at all. But Maito had to put up with it as he had no way of escaping and no where else to go. The only way Maito could get out and about was when he was sled racing, of course he would only race the smalle, dodgy teams as his owner didnt have enough money to pay for greater competitors. Maito was lead dog and sowed true leadership in his racing. When he was 2 years old, he went up against a team that was still bad, but the best team he had gone against. During the race the leader of the opposite team forcefully made Maito's team crash. They were only a few minutes out of Nome so when they crashed, and Maitos buckle came loose from the main rope, he saw it as a chance to flee from Joe. Without looking back, he headed straight for the home for sled dogs, Jamies home.

Jamie was overjoyed to see Maito, and knew that Joe was a cruel man, as he had seen Joe beating his dogs once before. Jamie emmidiatly brought Maito inside, and tended to his twisted ankle. He was welcomed with open arms by all the other dogs there which made Maito completely forget about Joe and the other cruel dogs at his old home. Maito also still has a chance to get let out of the home to free roam around the village, and to see his best friend and brother, Elijah.

One day, maito was out exploring when he ran into a sand coloured female. She was beautiful and Maito was stuck aweing at her appearance that he didnt even hear her introduce herself. Maito found out her name was Rita, and she was one of the most beautiful girls he had ever seen. The two emmidiatly took to eachother and soon enough, Maito developed feelings for her. He couldn't help but smile when he was arounf her but then sadden when he thought that he would never get a chance to tell her how he felt. All until that one faithful night, the whole village was scurrying around to try and make it to the big race of Maitos team and one of the greatest teams Nome had ever Known. When maito was saying fairwell to Rita, he accidentally slipped out that he liked her. he turned bright red when he saw how shocked she was. But she soon relaxed her face muscles and told him that she liked him back. From then on the two were considered 'mates pending', always together and always in love.
