"Job"- Montrose is the highest ranking police dog in Nome's Dog Squad.

Rivals- Novo likes to think of the two of them as rivals, but Montrose doesn't really pay that any mind at all.

Traits from each parent- Montrose has his mother's overall coloration, but he has a few spots- not many. He shares his father's back markings.

Height- Montrose is not that big, he's just the standard height for his breeds.

Weight- Slight, yet strong build.

Body when Rendering- A modified Balto. Montrose has one floppy ear (his right), and is rather fluffy.

When drawn- A fluffy mutt-looking dog.

Personality- Very quiet, brave, strong willed, dry sense of humor, never timid, kind, forgiving, sweet, never gets mad, calm, looks on the bright side of life, strong sense of clarity, very smart, mellow.

Likes- Going around town, meeting others, showing new arrivals around. keeping everyone safe, getting scraps of food from the butcher, night-time, stars, the moon, the sound of crickets, not being dragged into drama.

Dislikes- Working crime scenes, guns, thick mud, extremely hot days.

Hates- Senseless crimes.

Bio- Montrose was born a police dog- both his parents were top police or search dogs. Fighting crime was in his blood and even from a young age, Montrose has a strong sense of justice and helping others. Instead of play fighting his siblings, he'd want to play hide-and-seek. He'd never complain of he was the finder, infact, he loved being the finder and hated being the hider.

As soon as he was six months old, Montrose began training as a police dog, excelling and completing every task with ease. When the training was over, he swelled through the ranks of the police dogs, being considered to be the best one. He mentored Novo, a younger task force dog who was a bit headstrong, teaching him that it wasn't about being the bravest or the best, it was about being the best you can in the situation. 

However, on one particularily damgerous mission, Montrose was sent in by himself to see if the suspect was in the broken down shack. Stepping in cautiously, he duly noted that the floor was just dirt- most of it thick, deep mud. He could also see the foot prints, and followed them, trudging nearly silently. As he got close to the two-by-four stairs, he got sight of the suspect. Montrose then heard gunshots go off and before her could do anything, he hit the mud with a splat. Feeling the cold, drowning mud mix with his fiery blood, he began snarling through the pain. A few seconds later the other dogs had been sent into the ramshackle house, all of them now enraged that one of their own had been wounded. Montrose watched, half awake as his former apprentice; Novo, protected him with his own body. Before the suspect could fire the gun, Raymond, the big burly Saint Bernard had taken him down. Then he blacked out.

When Montrose woke up, there were bandages strung across his shoulders and chest. However, it wasn't silent in the vet's office as he'd suspected it would be- his partner, KitKit, was right next to him, talking of investigations they'd been on together.  Montrose leaned over, resting his head on the edge of the elevated bed, very akin to a stretcher. He thanked her, tiredly and halfly coherent through all the painkillers he'd probably been given. Montrose stared at her for a few seconds, realizing that out of all the ones he cared about, she was the only one who cared enough about him to come to the medical as soon as possible. Montrose stretched his neck and kissed her on the forehead.

For days on end after the initial shot he laid silently on the cold floor. Montrose knew he could never go back to the Police Force and do the job he'd been able to do because of this. Sure Kitten, Keely, Novo, Raymond or anyone else for that matter could come in here and say whatever they wanted- it still wouldn't make a difference.

Fortunately he was wrong. Although he did limp at times, he was able to do his job at the same level he'd been capable of doing before his injury.

Other-

Montrose's right front leg is the one the sometimes gives him trouble.

Technically, yes he does have a scar on his right shoulder region. However, his fur covers it.
