Bio-
Morticai was born to two Alaskan Malmamutes in Washington State. His owners had moved from Alaska to Washington in hopes of getting in on the gold rush, so they packed up their Malmamutes and moved South West. Along the way two of their best dogs became mates and shortly after arriving Morticai and his siblings were born. Morticai was the largest pup in his litter, so he was often the one getting the rest of them into trouble.
At two and a half years Morticai's owners decided they'd had enough of the gamble of searching for gold, so they took the long trip back to Alaska. By now, Morticai had been training as a sled dog since he was just a pup so he was one of the dogs trusted to pull the sled- others were given to friends that had been made in the chaos of gold finding, and some were just too old to carry the burden of a sled. As he ran, Morticai quickly realized that this was what really mattered- he loved it. As the weather got harsher, Morticai didn't care; infact, it only hightened his newfound love of sledding.
When he finally arrived in Nome, he was shocked at the number of sleddogs there- everywhere he looked there waas at least ten dogs in harnesses. It didn't take long for the locals of Nome to find out that Morticai's owners were back- infact they'd been some of the most prominent Alaskan Malmamute breeders in Nome. The mushers immeadiately began asking about the dogs and Morticai's owners, feeling like they could part with some of them agreed.
Morticai was sold to a musher named Dez Mao. At first, he was scared at the idea of not having his owners, and didn't like this "Dez" person very much in the begining. He warmed up to the musher after meeting some of the other sleddogs, including a Chow Chow named Kansa. Morticai immeadiately found a friend in the goofy canine and in the begining basically clung to him. It took time, but he warmed up to the others and considered them family.
One day, Dez Mao came back from one of his walks late and looking extremely concerned. He stayed in the kennels long enough to look at each of his dogs, then left once more. Extreme chatter broke out from the cages around him, while Morticai only lied down and sighed. After the chatter hadn't ceased Morticai loudly explained that it wasn't their business, and they'd all find out soon enough if it was important. Some of the dogs paid attention, others kept talking, Morticai didn't care much- he was just trying to sleep, which was already hard enough to do.
Awhile later, after countless stressed days, Dez came back with a female dog, named Liv. Morticai immeadiately felt for her- not long ago he'd been in her paws- the new one. He accepted her openly and quickly befriended her, hoping that the others would too. Gabi, the oldest one on the team seemed drawn to Liv and the two really hit it off. Morticai wondered why, but he just guessed it was due to them both being the only females.
Morticai wasn't really surprised when Des let Liv try out for the team, infact he'd been expecting it. As he ran the trial runs, he quickly noticed how sledding seemed to be natural to Liv. It didn't shock him at all when after just two runs, she was put as second to lead dog. Unlike some of the others who felt like they deserved the spot, Morticai congradulated her. If anyone gave her crap about getting to that position so quickly, it would be Morticai who would straighten them out.
More to come if I get him. (I'll add more as I see the other dog's bio(s))
Other-
Morticai treats his sled team as a family. That being said, he has a lot of brothers, a mother and a little sister.
Takes his job very seriously, as he doesn't have much of a backup plan.
Fears for the lives of his teamates more than his own.
