History: 

Nera is the mate of Cherokee, the leader of the wolfpack in Balto 2 that Nava used to rule. (Cherokee is Nava's brother) Nera wears a red bead necklace given to her by her previous indian owner. Nera is the healer of the pack, in charge of caring and nurturing for the sick and wounded. She is training Cherokee's niece, Freya (Nava's grandaughter), to take over her role oneday. Nera's patient, gentle nature makes her extremly good with puppies, so she sometimes does puppy sitting for some of the moms in the pack. She adopted one of the young omegas in the pack, Rain (Niju's daughter), who was orphaned (read Rain's profile for more info on that).

Nera came from a small Native American villiage a few hours away from Nome. She was born there and grew up there with about five other dogs, named Hawk, Tappo, Papaki, Yashu and Robin. Hawk was very much like Steele, proud and manipulative, while the rest just followed him around, laughed with him and his rude jokes and nodded their heads at everything he said. Nera disliked him very much and he never left her alone. Oneday she and the other dogs caught a wolf with one blind eye trying to steal one of the villiage's goats, and fought him until he was very injured.

The wolf's name was Cherokee (yes, her mate in the wolfpack, just read the rest of the story then you'll see how it links up!). The villiagers wanted to kill Cherokee, but her owner Golden Falcon, had mercy on the wolf and decided to take care of him and release him back in the wild again. All the other dogs were very hostile towards him, but Nera was friendly with him and showed him around the villiage. Eventually after a while of having Cherokee staying in her villiage, she and the wolf grew quite fond of eachother. So, Cherokee offered her to live with him in his wolfpack as his mate. She accepted, and ran away with him. When Nera left with Cherokee, the villiage branded the two of them with names. Cherokee was named One-Eye or The wolf with one eye and Nera was named Wolfdog, The dog that runs with wolves.

When Nera arrived with Cherokee at the wolfpack, the other wolves weren't exactly very fond of the idea of letting a dog live in their pack, but Nava did not have a problem with it and welcomed her in with open arms. The rest of the pack eventually got used to her and today she is a respected member of the pack.

When Balto and Aleu came to the pack and helped them find their homeland, Cherokee was elected as the new leader of the pack and Aleu was elected as the deputy leader. Nera's son, Fang, used to have a crush on Aleu. But later on Fang also brought a dog back to the pack as his mate (I know, such a cliche... Read Fang or Quinn's profle for more info about that). Fang's mate was a housedog named Collie, but when she joined the pack Cherokee changed her name to Quinn. Quinn's father is Kaltag and her mother is one of the dogs that Nera lived with in her villiage, Robin (Read Quinn's profile on how Robin ended up in the villiage). Nera and Quinn and the only two dogs in the pack.

Relation to Balto: Nava is her brother-in-law. Her son Fang's mate, Quinn, is Kaltag's daughter.
