Good traits: Nio is very sweet, caring, spirited, and outgoing. He is able to find the good in just about everything and looks past the bad. A good boy who is stupidly loyal to those he loves and cares about. A good individual to talk to if you need to let off some steam. He's very friendly, surprisingly for being quite famous, and loves making time for his fans.
Bad traits: Nio is a goody-two-shoes. He is born to please, and puts aside his feelings for others way too much. He can drag out conversations a little too long without realizing it, and doesn't know when to take a hint. He's very soft-skinned, and is really just a big kid at heart with big expectations in life. Is too much of a dreamer.
How they express happiness: Tail wagging, tongue lolling, and even jumping up a few times to lick whoever he is happy with or around. He's that guy who kisses the nearest stranger or two to express how strong he feels on something.
How they express anger: Nio isn't known to portray anger. If anything his eyes will squint some and his ears will slightly go back, along with a tone change. Though his explosive rage just seems like he's annoyed about something.
How they express sadness: It's highly unlikely that there is a chance at this optimistic mongrel to show any signs of depression. Sometimes he'll smile more weakly, or he won't be as enthused as normal, but he isn't that much different than normal.
How they express fear: Nio's eyes form in the shape of moons and his ears go back as well as pinning his tail in between his legs. He'll also whimper if he feels horrified.

Backstory

Born to Balto and Jenna in an average-sized litter of six. This was Jenna's second litter, but her parenting skills remained the same. She was mostly busy with her owner, Rosie, and was often too busy to care for her puppies. She often left Balto in charge, which was fine. Balto was a great father to them; he played with them, became their personal toy, and told a few good stories. Nio had a strong bond with his father and siblings, loving them all dearly. And of course, a certain couple of playful polar bears, and uncle Boris.

When adoption day came, Nio was both eager and nervous. He didn't want to leave his family, but he sensed new adventure on the horizon. Like some of his other siblings, Nio dreamed of being a sled dog. Clawing to the top and wearing a fancy collar richer than the Yukon territory's gold mines was the life that the energetic pup desired. He dreaded being a house dog; he wanted to be popular, like his father. But maybe in a different way. As expected of the sweet and loving Nio, he was the first to be adopted by a little blond boy and his grandfather. He waved his goodbyes to his family before being carried off in the comforting embrace of his new boy.

It was soon that the red energetic hybrid began to grow into a teenager. Nio's boy had his hands full with his dog, and at times, he questioned how he was able to handle such a wild ball of fluff. Nio was a gift from the boy's grandfather, and his parents didn't want the dog. However, once his parents dug into Nio's lineage, they realized that they could make profit out of him. The boy didn't mind, and neither did Nio. After he turned two-years-old, he would become a show dog. The people of Nome didn't seem to mind Nio's part-wolf blood. He was deemed trustworthy and valuable, due to his father's amazing feat. Nio had a good reputation that he was bound to keep.

After time, showing became Nio's life. Being the most attractive and flashy out of his family members, a lot of people lined up to see just him. The hybrid had won many times, bringing in awards and money to the family. Nio's popularity increased, and many dogs had wanted to hang around him. Though despite all of the fame, he kept his head on his shoulders. He was always polite and respectful of those around him. He didn't see a point in being rude. Plus, everyone was being so nice to him! This was like a dream come true.

He could have any girl of his choice, but the poor boy was too shy and nervous. He was fine with just having girls as his friends instead of anything romantic. Being as busy as he was, Nio always made time to visit his family members when he could. He still loved them very dearly, and loved being around them. Nio is oblivious to danger and trouble which his brother, Yata, always tries to get him into. He is often found in the show ring, the boiler room, or with his favorite brother, Kodi.
