Description

Detail Sakari

Name: Sakari

Pronunciation: Suh-car-ee

Meaning: “Sweet” in Inuit

Age: Depends on use

Breed: Greenland Dog

Gender: Female

Parents: Bear and Mia

Sibling(s):  She has three of them (Open)

Personality: She’s a kind hearted, genuine and caring girl who loves her friends and family. Although sometimes weary of certain people because of their appearance, Sakari is a loveable Greenland dog who shows a lot of affection to those she loves. She’s very lively and happy and enjoys chasing things that she inhabit the wild with her. Loyalty is Sakari’s main purpose in life, as she will often keep by the side of her owner (and leader of the Tribe) Adlartok, helping him and enjoying his company. Witty and humorous when trying to cheer her friends up, this bubbly girl enjoys helping others out and exploring new things. However, she may seem defenceless in many ways because she gives people the impression that she’s a weak little girl, but Sakari proves many wrong, as she can be incredibly fiery and sticks up for herself, with the confidence to defend the Tribe from wild animals such as bears. She can often move out of the Tribe’s territory which often gets her into trouble, but she’s relaxed with punishment and will often put on cute faces to pull on her master’s heart strings, and none of the Tribe can stay mad at her for long. Her father, Bear, has often taught Sakari to be weary and to dislike wild wolves, but she’s never really hated them at all, truth be told she loves the company of wolves, and can often get into arguments with her father and it’s there that her flaws start to show. She can be very sensitive and cries easily, but her father hardly ever seems to understand that she’ll never dislike wolves, but her father is often pushy and uptight when it comes to wolves. His original owner was Adlartok’s father, who hated wolves and would often hang them, Adlartok being that of a different nature. Usually, Sakari tries her hardest never to cause trouble among her and her father, as usually she can cause fights and upsets between the other dogs that belong to the Tribe. At these times, Sakari enjoys just being alone and taking walks through the woods, enjoying the wildlife. Despite the Tribe feeding her regularly, Sakari enjoys hunting wildly for herself sometimes, often bringing back meals for herself. Therefore, she is overall a very independent, happy and lively female that will survive fine as long as she has somebody she loves beside her.

Likes: Elias, Adlartok, the Tribe, her parents, the feeling of warmth, smell of bacon, cool morning air, long walks in the forests alone, playing, laughing, sledding, making hideouts, exploring different places, helping out amongst the Tribe, she also enjoys defending the Tribe from dangers, as there are no greater risks than losing the lives of her loved ones, the other dogs belonging to the Tribe, wolves, Nome, interacting with other tribes and their dogs, She loves the Northern Lights and enjoys sightseeing, wherever she can manage to travel to she will, as she loves nothing better than to explore and discover new things which can fulfil her adventurous personality.

Dislikes: Being ordered around, feeling captured or held without anywhere to roam freely, wild animals that might pose a dangerous threat to the Tribe (such as grizzly bears, black bears),  her friends being injured or teased by enemies unknown tribes coming into her territory, people underestimating her, her father’s ways about wolves, Adlartok being injured or unwell.

Friends: Elias, Adlartok, Balto, Jenna, Pat, Celeste, Kiara, Buck.

Crush: Elias

Crushes on her: ???

Mate: T.B.A

Pups: None

History: Sakari was born in Nuka’s (Adlartok’s father) Tribe, her parents being the main dogs Bear and Mia. She was born in a small litter of four, as her mother only delivered such small litters. She was named for her little sweet personality that shone out among the other dogs, and wasn’t shy among the tribe, lovingly walking up to every single member and bounding on the other sleeping dogs at times. Adlartok fell in love with her, and Sakari became his favourite and best friend.

Sakari grew up learning important life-skills she would need in the future, with Adlartok and her parents by her side. However, Sakari would often go off to play, rather than show interest in the lessons she was being taught. Adlartok decided to teach her through games and fun, as dogs find it easier to learn that way. Sakari and Adlartok went on my outings and expeditions together, exploring the world around them and finding new food and water sources for the Tribe. Sakari also learnt how to sled, and became a valuable member of the Tribe’s sled team, in which they would often compete in the races and had recently become real contenders for the teams of Nome. Bear (Sakari’s father) was the leader of this team, he being currently the Tribe’s most valuable dog).

Often, these races would be held in Nome, that’s where she and Elias met, and soon became friends after learning of Balto’s heroic story, of Jenna and the pups and  Steele, and had virtually learned most of the history about the Town. Only Adlartok, Sakari and Bear had decided to find more out about the town while they were staying there for preparation ahead of the race. Sakari was the one doing the most discovering, after Adlartok went out to learn more about the story from the villagers, Bear did his part learning about the outcomes of Steele from the wise town-dogs, whilst Celeste met the dogs themselves. Unfortunately, it came about that Balto had recently died, and the race that they were to take part in was in memory of him. “The Great Balto Race” it was named, and was said to take a few days. Elias, the dog who had been teaching Sakari of this knowledge, became a close friend of Sakari’s, and he continued to fill her mind full of the world of the historic legends of Balto.

At the time of the race, the three altogether had collected a variety of different information on different parts of the story, and it was all from a variety of different sources. Adlartok was preparing for the race, (His father being now too old to lead the tribe, and so he had taken over), getting the dogs ready. Mia was expecting a second litter of puppies, and so couldn’t  race in her usual position alongside her mate, Bear. Adlartok was given the opportunity to make a hard decision, and eventually moved Sakari to the front row, beside her father. He felt the two would be a great combination to lead the team, and had unquestionable faith in them, one of which no one could change his mind. He loved these dogs, and he knew they’d do him proud, whoever the contenders. After the starting gun rang out it’s cry, Adlartok’s team set out ahead of the others, bounding on, pulling the sled and digging deep, trying their incredibly hardest to get a good lead. Sakari knew that she must do Adlartok proud, and her father was just as keen to do the same thing. Bear galloped on, seeming totally unfazed by the tiredness that came across all of the racing dog’s bodies, he was overall on-going, and without a slight look of infuriation or signs he was struggling. The dog ran hard and strong, and so did all the way, resting when the checkpoints came, but always ready for the next part of the race.

All was won, and Adlartok couldn’t have been prouder of the team. They had become memorable winners, and Nome seemed to love them, despite them not being a completely native team. However, they had undeniably deserved the win, as the dogs went strong like none of the others. The team’s pictures hung on Nome’s Wall of Fame, beside the Great and heroic Balto, who belonged in the town’s hearts forever, alive or dead.  Bear was incredibly and consistently proud of his daughter. Sakari has since become a largely respected dog among the Tribe, and she loves going on outings with her master, her father and mother. She is sure she was destined to protect Adlartok, and this so thought is becoming incredibly clear to her. If ever Adlartok be in any form of danger, she will always be at his side, forever and always. A loyal dog indeed.
