Personality ;; Zasshu has a patient, calm, and collected demeanor, however can be aggressive when necessary. Though he may seem hard and stiff as the pack leader at first glance, on the inside he is actually very wise, friendly, and rather playful, and is a caring and loving leader towards his pack. Each of the wolves in his pack all look up to him as their wise leader and the loving caretaker, provider, and protector of the pack and all things dear to him.

Background ;; At a very young age, Zasshu lost both his father and mother in a pack raid. Zasshu and his two brothers and one sister, however, all managed to survive, and Zasshu stayed with his siblings and what was left of his pack until he was old enough to venture out on his own. He left his pack once he was fully grown, and while roaming the lands night and day as a lone wolf, he was attacked by another male lone wolf, which was where he got the scars across his jaw from. He managed to beat the wolf, and later found a mate by the name of Kiime, and they both formed a new pack high up in the mountains. One day Kiime suddenly passed away from an unknown illness, leaving Zasshu to lead the pack they had formed on his own as a sudden famine crisis struck, thereby limiting the pack's food and water source.

Relation to Balto ;; To add to the misfortunes of Kiime (the alpha female) passing away and the famine, Aleu, after becoming the new alpha of Nava's pack and leading them across the great water, moved her pack into Zasshu's territory and began hunting his pack's prey. Some of the wolves in Aleu's pack even began to attack Zasshu and his pack members. Zasshu decided to take Shinso and Markus, his brothers, Rukii, his sister, and Toshiro, Natsume, and Sojiro, his three sons along with him to confront Aleu and a select few of her pack mates and have a meeting. Zasshu gave Aleu two choices - leave his land peacefully with her pack, or he and his pack will fight them for it. Aleu refused to leave, for unknown intentions, and she and Zasshu's pack declared war for the territory. However, Zasshu will not give up his territory for anyone, so Aleu best watch herself.
