Likes/loves: Luka, Kodi, Shadow, his other family members, racing, being told he's a good boy, attention (even if he denies it), being played with, energetic people or canines, belly rubs

Good traits: Zeke is a very positive, friendly spirit. He can seem to find the good in just about everything and looks past the bad. A good boy, and is stupidly loyal to those he loves and cares about. A good individual to talk to if you need to let off some steam.
Bad traits: Zeke is extremely energetic, to the point where it's unreal. He has a constant spring in his step. Makes a lot of stupid jokes, and he carries on and on about them. Doesn't really understand things unless you're straight upfront with him. He's also very soft-skinned, and just a kid at heart with big expectations and dreams on life.
How they express happiness: Tail wagging, tongue lolling, and even jumping up a few times to lick whoever he is happy with or around. He's that guy who kisses the nearest stranger or two to express how strong he feels on something.
How they express anger: Zeke isn't known to portray anger. If anything his eyes will squint some and his ears will slightly go back, along with a tone change. Though his explosive rage just seems like he's annoyed about something.
How they express sadness: It's highly unlikely there's a chance at this optimistic mongrel to show any signs of depression. Sometimes he'll smile more weakly, or he won't be as enthused as normal, but not that much different.
How they express fear: Zeke's eyes form in the shape of moons and his ears go back as well as pinning his tail in between his legs. He'll also whimper if he feels horrified.

Backstory

Born to Jenna and Balto in a litter of six. This was Jenna's second litter, but her parenting remained the same. She was mostly busy with her owner Rosie, and was often too busy to care for her puppies. She often left Balto in charge. Balto was a good dad for all of them; playing with them, letting them chew on him, and getting a few stories out of him here and there. Though Zeke didn't have a close bond to his father like Aleu and Kodi had, Zeke still loved him and wanted to spend as much time with him as he could. He loved both of his parents and his siblings dearly. And of course, a certain couple of playful polar bears, and uncle Boris.

When adoption day came, Zeke was extremely eager. He didn't want to leave his family from the light pack instinct he had, but he sensed new adventure. Like some of his other siblings, Zeke dreamed of being a sled dog. Climbing to the top wearing a fancy collar was the life the energetic pup wanted. Though he knew he would've sufficed as a house dog.. Just as long as he had plenty of socks to chew on. But most importantly, he desperately wanted to get away from his sister, Aleu. He loved her, but she was just excruciatingly loud when she howled. For his outgoing personality, Zeke was adopted first pick by a blond boy and his grandfather. He waved his goodbyes to his family before being carried off in the comforting embrace of his new boy.

It was soon that the red hybrid began to grow into a teenager. Zeke was a good pet to his boy, and always kept him busy. The two went everywhere together and were just inseparable. Matthew had a lot of social anxiety and really just wanted to be with his dog. Zeke learned that Matthew's parents had died in a train wreck and his only living relative had been his grandfather who took good care of him. Zeke grew into a gangly young adult, but he was still a nobody from where he stood. One day when he went into town, he met a black and tan dog with red ears. She called him out, seeming to recognize him from the start. The dog introduced herself as Shadow; his older half sister. The two canines hit it off right away, sharing interests and such. Zeke learned that his half brother, Iron, wore the golden collar. He remembered his father telling him stories of the legendary collar, but he was simply amazed at this news. Soon, Zeke and Shadow were like best friends. The two siblings had each other's backs, and to put the cherry on top, they were both highly energetic. Zeke was glad to have such a loving family member and an amazing owner.

Though things changed on a fateful day. Now teenage Matthew took Zeke out on a walk near the ocean. It was made clear that they were going ice fishing. Zeke had wished Matthew's grandfather had tagged along with them, but Matthew insisted things would be fine. Before taking any precausions, Matthew set out on the lake. Zeke, of course, followed. After finding a spot, both human and canine were disappointed to find no fish. Matthew soon started walking back to shore, but he had stepped onto a patch of thin ice which was covered from last night's snow. The unforgiving waves lapped up at the startled boy, sweeping him into the icy depths. Horrified, Zeke frantically looked into the broken ice into the dark waters, but seen nothing. Hearing a cracking noise underneath himself, he realized the ice was about to give underneath him as well. He leaped onto a solid patch of ice just narrowly avoiding being sucked in. The hybrid still on alert, looking for his boy, he seen a shivering form along the beach. Letting out a yip, he ran over to Matthew, curling up next to him. Though his body was reacting to the cold, it seemed like he was unconscious. There were lots of bruises and blood ran down his forehead, which Zeke could only assume was from the rocks. Zeke licked his face, worriedly whimpering. It was early the next day in which Matthew's grandfather had found them. Shocked, the frail elderly man had took Matthew to the hospital. Zeke waited impatiently to hear the news. His heart sank as he heard that Matthew was in a coma and luck wasn't on his side.

It was a few weeks later that Matthew's grandfather had decided to give away the hybrid to a new home. Being alone with nothing to do and no daily walks really brought him down. He was sad to leave the home which he always known. Upon learning he was going to be on a sled team with his brother, he cheered up a bit, but he was still worried about Matthew. Mr. Simpson soon came to pick up the hybrid. As Mr. Simpson was about to remove his collar, he was told to leave it on by Matthew's grandfather in which Mr. Simpson respected. Then, he was off to his new home.

On arriving at the home, he was instantly welcomed by four dogs. The dogs names were Ralph, Dusty, Kirby, and James. Though he had a friendly face, the darker husky was saddened by the loss of his brown and gray partner who died of old age. It was then that Zeke had met Kodi for the first time in years. Kodi didn't exactly welcome him with open arms like the others, but he wasn't rude either. Zeke fit right in. It wasn't long til the team was rearranged with Zeke and Kodi in the lead, James and Kirby in the back, and Ralph and Dusty in the middle. Though it was only a mail team, their rise in popularity was significant. Curious small groups of fans stopped by to see the newcomer, who welcomed the attention. Kodi and the others accepted the attention, but none of them loved it as much as Zeke. He seemed to have been getting the most attention anyway from his compatibility with everyone and caring side. Though it began to get to be too much as girls started to flock him. The red hybrid wasn't used to this odd feeling of being wanted, so he began trying to avoid it when he could. As time went on, Kodi and Zeke became closer friends, and were comfortable around each other at last.

Through the fans he met and friends he made, one in particular stood out to him. A male German Shepherd mix named Luka. He and Kodi bonded with him and as soon as James had passed away, Mr. Simpson made arrangements to have the black and tan dog placed on his team. Zeke was placed a position back, but he didn't mind one bit. He was just happy to have made a friend who had a similar personality to his own. But Kodi had beat him in the "best friend race". Zeke was simply happy he had a social team who were like family. Unfortunately, the peace didn't last. Zeke overheard his brother getting into an argument with Luka. As Kodi was strictly dedicated to his job, Luka wanted to start a family as he got older. He winced, as he heard Kodi basically tell the German Shepherd mix to leave or focus on his job. Though what happened next surprised him.

Luka had put his sledding skills to the test, and soon Kodi was removed from the sled team from his "lack of participation". The German Shepherd mix was soon made the lead dog. Zeke was proud of his friend, but he still worried about his brother. Zeke remained loyal to the team and Luka as the two's bond began to strengthen. Zeke's main routine was delivering mail with his team, avoiding girls, playing with Shadow, and sometimes going off alone to think about what could've happened to Matthew.
