"That's a really good question. I think there are parts of all the characters that I sympathize with strongly - you have to feel the character's drive to direct it. I think probably Balto himself is the one I feel the strongest empathy for."

JC : I wasn't saying that you accused Ronno of being violent or anything, I was just trying to show that for me the question was okay and that maybe we need to be more lax. But that's my opinion we can always discuss it It's normal to be carefull with what we send not blaming anyone haha.

I have to step out of this and let you guys discuss it with the other mods, and maybe with Karlamon, but again, I think you guys are misinterpreting what both Troll, and probably especially I, have said. Barrow, nobody called Ronno's question, or any like it (of which there were only one or two others), "violent", "irrespectful" (sic: disrespectful...just a courteous FYI) or anything like that. And we know that Simon Wells was very eager to answer questions...some of us have seen his response to Karlamon. He was a total gentleman and a professional in his response, and I know everyone is grateful that he's taking the time.

Jeez man, we're getting a little too far afield with this. The point is that the questions should be specific to the movie. There are probably going to be a lot of questions, and a few complex ones. The whole point of the exercise is that, as I interpret it (and as Karlamon outlined it). So I don't see what the problem is with keeping questions focused as originally outlined. He's not going to have a lot of time to do this...and my thoughts are that we should focus on asking him about the movie production and the elements of it...not esoteric questions like "what character do you most identify with/feel like?" Or things of that nature.

Nobody is degrading Ronno or trying to be hurtful to her.

Yes, I understand what you mean, but perhaps he doesn't want to reply only to professional questions which can be annoying too (he probably only received these questions). He's a person like you and me, working with passion (and doing amazing job, indeed!), and that's a kind of "passionated question", if you allow me to say it like this x) That's why it would be interesting to ask different kind of questions too, I think

I personaly find this question interesting : many people already thought of this question and I think that he would be glad to answer these kind of questions rather than the usual questions. He is already happy to answer to us and his answers to Karlamon were really friendly and not at all "fancypants". This question is not at all irrespectful, violent or other, it has the right to be asked. In all cases, all the questions will be considered before being sent and Simon Wells himself has the right to answer or no. I for one think that it is best to allow as many questions as possible so that we can then consider the most interesting or not. In other words : I don't see why you have the right to claim that this question is inappropriate.

Also, the questions can be re-written in propper english of course and with courtesy. This is a fan who just asks the question on the website, no need to be harsh.

Well I'm not sure anyone meant that she's disrespecting him. But several of us discussed this, and we felt it would be better to treat a professional, who is taking time out of his busy schedule to respond to a lot of questions, with proper courtesy and deference, and limit the questions to the movie itself (and other movies he's worked on, according to Karlamon). Esoteric questions like these, which are fannish in nature, and not directly pertaining to the movie itself, might be taken as a bit on the odd side...or distracting from the whole point of the exercise.
