he is black and white instead of brown and tan). The animators
probably just made him half wolf so there would be a good plot for the
movie.

did u not look at d documentry in d special festures on d balto dvd it says it all there balto isnt half wolf they judt did dat so it would b intrestin imagin watchin balto nd he wasnt half wolf b very borin steel wouldnt b in it cuz hes d 1 who sloages balto nd im not sure wat colour balto really was cuz i saw a real pic of him nd hes blac but dan i saw a pic of him stuffed in a meusem nd he was brown

Yes, Balto was a husky in real life. The animators just made Balto half wolf because they wanted to make the movie more fun and exciting. His real colors were black and white.

They made him half wolf to make the movie a little more interesting, because the real Balto was actually treatened poorly. But they didn't make him pure breed husky, because it's usually the wolf part were everyone doesn't like. (well, like back then)
