The cold air blew into the cave as the male alpha, Engor, was pacing nervously outside, hoping to hear something soon about his mate and their unborn pups. After a long time a female wolf came walking out, bringing him good news about his mate. He walked slowly inside and in the corner of the cave he saw his mate looking tired but happy and he ran quickly to her. She was a light brown and white husky and her blue eyes beamed down at their new pups and she smiled. Engor looked down and wagged his tail.

 

“One..two..three..four” he smiled as he looked back up at his mate.

 

“Yes, but look closely at the one in the corner” his mate said as she watched him turn his head around.

 

Engor looked down, and in the corner was a little female pup that looked like him. He looked back up and wagged his tail again

 

“She looks just like you”.

 

Engor looked over his other pups, one girl looked just like her mother, one male was black but had light brown muzzle and his front feet were also brown and the last one was completely black. After studying his pups he lied down next to his tired mate who was falling asleep

 

“Have you thought of any names?” he whispered gently in her ear. She opened her eyes slowly and looked up

 

“I want to name her Hope” she pointed to the pup that looked like her father

 

“Hope” he whispered to himself and smiled.

5 months had passed from the pups birth, all of them where doing fine. Engor couldn’t be more proud of them, as he watched them playing in the sun outside their cave. His mate came walking out of the cave and sat down next to him

 

“Hope, Kiwi, Storm, Koda” She called to them and they stopped playing,

“Come and eat” she said and led them into the cave.

 

Engor stood up and looked around wondering where the rest of his wolf pack was, but after a little while he walked in after his family.

Not so far away all the members of the wolf pack where standing in another cave close by.

 

“What is the meaning of this?” A silver wolf asked as he looked around

 

Behind him a bigger black wolf came walking out from dark

 

“I say we pick a new leader for this pack” He said in a dark voice as he studied the faces of the other wolfs

 

“Why do you think we need a new leader, Engor is our leader.” A female wolf said as she watched the black wolf walking into the middle

 

“He doesn’t care about us, he only thinks about that Husky and his pups” he said loudly and sat down in the middle “He is betraying the pack to be with that Husky, who used to be a pet. He doesn’t deserve to lead us. I say, WE PICK SOMEONE ELSE!” he said as he watched the reaction of the other wolfs

 

The wolfs around him looked at each other thinking about what he had just told them.

 

“What do you think would happen if someone would attack the pack, do you think that he would try to defend us or that Husky and her offspring?” He asked as he saw the faces of some of the wolfs starting to show approval

 

“I say we choose someone who really cares about this pack and we get rid of the mistake and his family!”

 

Some of the wolfs started to growl in approval of this

 

“I say we attack now!” His voice echoed over the cave

 

All the wolfs started to growl

Engor lay in his cave next to his mate and watched his young ones eat. Suddenly he heard growling coming from outside. He stood up and walked over to the cave opening, he looked out he saw all the pack members walking up to his cave in led by Sodax, the black wolf.

 

“What is going on here?” he asked, surprised over what was happening

 

“We are here to get rid of you and your family. You don’t deserve to be a leader, you have betrayed the pack by being with that pet” Sodax growled at him as he came closer to the cave.

 

Engor looked shocked at the wolfs who where closing on to his cave. He turned around swiftly and ran to his mate

 

“We need to get out of here, FAST!” he yelled at her.

 

“What is going on?” she asked shocked and scared

 

“GET THE KIDS OUT AT THE BACK! He yelled at her “I will try to keep them busy”

 

“What about you?” She asked scared as she saw her mate’s reaction

 

“I will catch up with you soon. Now hurry.” He said and gave her a convincing smile
