[ Child Ark ]

Belle was raised by Friend Owl after being abandoned by her mother and father. Apparently she was born very small and thin and weak and was not expected to survive the winter, but her new father made up a tiny little tale that sounded much more friendly than abandonment.
Friend Owl sheltered her in an old, dying oak tree, which managed to save her from the harsh winds and frigid snow on the grow until spring. As Belle grew, she grew to be scruffier and stockier than most female deer, and soon became aloof and distant from her surrogate father, Friend Owl. She spent her days foraging for food on her own in the forest and taking naps by the river. As a child with a popular foster father, she was introduced to many creatures of the forest- including Ronno. He was the first deer she had met, and she refused to meet any others, deeming Ronno her new little brother. Years passed and Ronno became mean and antagonizing, and Belle did her best to cut off most of her ties with him, even though she was beginning to develop romantic feelings.

[ Teenage Ark ]
She met Bambi and Faline after trying to lose Ronno on her way to the groundhog, since Friend Owl had encouraged her to see the event and make friends. Once Ronno appeared after catching up to her, she attempted to leave, and was stopped and threatened.
She told Ronno she was going home with Bambi. Ronno was in disbelief, and in a fit of laughter said that he guessed she was "just another one of the freaks". Angry that she wouldn't submit to his teasing and go home with him, he then began to bully her about her heterochromia and her missing parents. In a fit of rage, Belle attacked Ronno and sent him sprawling. She then proceeded to kick snow into his face and told him to never speak to her again or else his punishment would be far worse.
On her way home in a huff, she was accompanied by Bambi and Faline, who praised her and commemorated her stand against Ronno. They sympathized with her and apologized for Ronno's rudeness and asked if they could walk her home. She accepted. For a few weeks she, Bambi, and Faline got well-acquainted. Belle felt as though they more siblings than anything, and rarely smiled unless she was with them.
Belle was known around the forest as the one who put Ronno in his place, and a week after attacking him, he approached her once more. He was angry, embarrassed over what had happened. He tried to get her to fight him in a rematch, and she was in shock- Ronno was supposed to be her friend. He denied ever being friends with her and proceeded to lunge. Belle swiftly moved out of the way and fled. She was soon cornered at a cliff and had no choice but to fight. Being bigger and stronger than Ronno, Belle defeated him quickly. She had him dangling over the cliff and was fast to pull him back up. She asked why Ronno had been so terrible towards her, he replied by calling her names. Belle was unsatisfied with such an answer, and began to show him how wrong he was for going about and bullying the poor creatures in the woods, wondering what he had to gain for it, since he wasn't getting respect. She alerted him that he was the center of ill rumours and was disliked nearly everywhere. When she asked him if he had anyone in the world to call a friend, Ronno left her and returned home.

[ Adult Ark ]
As an adult, Belle was told the truth about her parents. She was not angry, and appreciated being told. While leaving the old oak tree, Belle was initially going to turn back around and ask Friend Owl if she could come home, but hid behind the tree when she heard voices talking to him. They told Friend Owl that they had come to the forest long ago and wanted to know how he was. Belle was curious to know if these were her long-lost parents- she was torn between jumping out and introducing herself as their daughter or running away. For a while she eavesdropped, but they did not mention her at all. They only talked about their adult son. When Friend Owl asked if they had any other children, the deer seemed to hesitate, but answered that they had a daughter who had died during the winter.
Angred that her parents were lying about abandoning her, Belle made her way across the forest to a small pond by a small cliff edge to think. Wanting to relax and gather her bearings, she stopped to take a drink. She was suddenly scared by a soaked deer coming out of the water. This deer was also frightened and told Belle to watch where she put her face. She asked for the deer's name, since she wanted to know who was talking to her so rudely before she threatened to attack him.
The deer replied with, "Ronno". Shocked, Belle introduced herself as well. She asked why Ronno was so soaked in water when the pond barely reached up past her hooves, and when she heard of the fight over Faline, she proceeded to tease him.
She nursed his wounds and in return he offered her a night's stay with him. Seeing that Ronno was indeed changed by both his defeat and years of maturing, she accepted his offer, hoping that maybe he would find it in his heart to let her stay with him for many nights to come.

[ Trivia ]
- Belle's heterochromia did not develop until she reached childhood.
- There are some rumours in the forest that Belle bears a strong resemblance of one of the Great Princes of the past.
- Belle still does not know what her parents look like.
 

[ Body Details ]
Preferably rendered as a heavier-looking Bambi, but given slightly more scruff around her face, neck, and shoulders. Bambi's mother(again, heavier-looking) if rendered as an adult, with some excess fur at her hooves.
