History: Eighty-One was born on a wildlife ranch where the females where captured and hand-raised for better assurance they'd survive to provide more fawns later on. She and her sister were quickly captured and taken to the nursery. It was an area with five pens, one for different age groups of fawns and a bigger pen for the oldest fawns to run around in when the humans let them. The does were all given a tag with a number on it. Eighty-one was given #81 because she was the 81st fawn there. Her sister was #82.

The sisters were scared of being away from their mother who gave them no warning that the humans would come and do this to them. Whenever it was bottle-feeding time, Eighty-One would only let one human in specific feed her. She noticed her sister didn't like it when any human fed her. After a while, her sister wouldn't drink her milk. She noticed it when her sister would get weaker and slower and more tired all the time. But it was stilll a shock when Eight-One woke up one day and nosed her sister to get her to keep her company so early in the morning. Eighty-Two never did. Later that day, the humans took her away, still asleep. That was the last she was ever seen. Fearful she would be taken away too, Eighty-One always drank from her bottle, not caring who it was feeding her.

Eighty-One grew healthily. She was about to be moved from the infant pen to the next age group's pen when the ranch suddenly went out of business. All of the animals were arranged to go to either different ranches or set free. So Eighty-One was shipped with some other white-tailed deer to be released into the wild. They took out her #81 tag, and she wobbled away. The tag left a small hole in her left ear from then on.

Eighty-One wandered through her new home in terror. She was already lost and didn't see any of her penmates. Soon, Young Prince Bambi found her and showed her where the other deer stayed. Since she was alone, a mother doe who had lost her fawn let Eighty-One drink her milk. But despite this, Eighty-One only liked Faline, for she let her stay with her and her fawns in their thicket. Eighty-One felt safe there. Many asked her why she didn't have a name, but Eighty-One never answered. She had gone so long without a name, she didn't want a new one.

Eighty-One stayed with Faline and played with her two fawns. Soon they introduced her to their friends and she befriended them. Eighty-one had found a place to stay and food to eat whenever she wanted to. She was happy. She never wanted anything to do with humans again.

Relation To Bambi: stays with Faline and her fawns until they're older. Lives in Bambi's herd
