{Renall's History According to His Own Point of View...}

''I was born on the same day as my brother, Ronno, who is five minutes older than me. At one period of my fawn hood, I had to help my brother out with his behavior problem. You see, we were both rather pompous youngsters, but Ronno at one point began to get really arrogant. He started to bully other fawns, sometimes even me! Luckily I found out why, when I caught an older fawn teasing my poor brother about his stunted size (because, for an over-a-year-old, Ronno did look half his age); so basically Ronno was a bully because he'd been bullied. Anyway, I told my Mama, and our mother talked to the Older Fawn's mother; and whatever she said to him, he never went near Ronno again. My brother is much happier (and, by the way, also much taller).

 ''Into my maturity I had quite an awful experience. An unattended campfire belonging to hunters caused a blaze to spread through the forest one Autumn. I knew of a place safe from the fire - on an island in the middle of a lake - so I got some animals to follow me there. Most of the forest was ruined, but come Springtime, the trees had grown again and my home was full of life once more.
