Forewarning: I will listen to anything anyone has to say regarding this topic, but please keep in mind that these are merely suggestions. Use them as guidlines along with your own common sense.
There have been numerous 'message-fights' on these boards and on the site (there seems to be a new one every time I come back), and I think its time something was done.
1) Read Everything in a Post: It seems to me that the majority of problems stem from misinterpretation or incomplete reading of another member's post(s). Make sure to read everything, esspecially before posting an arguement, just so you have your facts straight; context is everything.
2) Reply calmly: Avoid using capital letters (in topics at the very least) as they are implied as yelling, and yelling is ussually connected to angry or frustration. If you really feel that you need to express your anger at a certain member, do so thru PMs. Keep the topics war-free. No one wants to open up a topic and read about the progress of an on-going arguement.
3) Listen to the Other Side: Take time to comprehend and understand any replies to your posts, whether on a topic or PM. Don't jump to conclusions, as they are ussually incorrect. Once you're sure what the member is saying, reply calmly.
I can't believe I even have to say this, but for pity's sake think of the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Don't discriminate against anyone for any reason, and try to have a positive attitude toward everyone. (If you can't, fake it I'm tired of running into people who bring their bad mood here.)
And lastly...
4) Be Patient: All good things come to those who wait (that includes comments and reviews)!
Again, I will remind the readers of this post that these are merely suggestions and are intened to serve as guidlines along with your own common sense.
I don't wish to become a preacher of morals, but I felt this had to be said.

Okay, why do I have to put HUGE letters and stuff and not even get my point across THEN, and he can make people CALMLY understand what he's talking about just by putting it in bold?????? Do I sound THAT condescending and angry when I post anything???? what's the deal!? I get so much opposition (or at least people who disagree with me) when I post something, and I try to be gentle about it and not start any wars, and he can come on here and give HIS opinion and the only thing people have said so far is "Everyone should read this!" What's the problem with me??? Why do I seem to bring out the controversy in people???!! I tried just like he did not to sound demanding or anything, and look what happened to me. This is quite frustrating.

Teal I think you come across as demanding and thats why you seem to start wars. I like this topic, I think it makes people rethink to post on a topic. Teal tried that and it didn't work so well. I would take notes if you want to try that again.

I agree with the others, Teal. Lone Wolf was directing his comments generally. He's got his hands full trying to manage a forum full of high-strung and hot-blooded teenagers and kids (and the occasional adult as well), and he's done a pretty good job in laying things out the way he did.

Well said, well said!
I suppose this is just one of those "little steps" that we all have to take in order to change this site into what it should be: A place where fans can talk and agree/disagree about things, while still being civilized human beings about it.
Hurrah for taking charge on the situation and trying to make a change for the better, Lone Wolf_fanwriter! I shall make sure to follow these guidelines and hopefully, things will get better!
