That is kind of a shocking news I didn't expect! MGM has announced that Secret of NIMH, ADGTH 1 and 2 will be coming on Bluray next month, on March 29, 2011!

I wonder if they restored the picture and what extras they will include. As far as I know, this is the first non-Disney company to release any of its 2D animated films on Bluray. If they sell well, we can have hope for Universal to do the same!

What!? No way, this is awesome, I'll definitely be getting it on BluRay when it comes out.

Though I'll add if I ever do have to resort to Blueray like I did DVDs [which I really freaking hope not after how much money I put into so many DVDs], it'll certainly be one of the first ones I get.

Even if I never watch it, I may buy DVDs just to have them.

I'm really curious as to the extras that may be included in the films.

Can't wait for Tuesday to see the back of the cases, and decide whether or not I should spring for them.

So has anyone gotten this yet? I've been holding off to see what extras were on it, XD. I didn't want to cough up another 15 bucks for nothing extra than a better picture, *hit*

I'm in the same boat here as Blur, I am very curious as to the special features and extras involved. The US release of the DVD, to my knowledge had very, very little in the way of bonuses. The trailer for the film, and that's it.

It was released on Tuesday, but none of the stores around here had them. Apparantly, the only "animated Blu Ray release" that mattered was Disney's "Tangled". Not knocking that movie though.

OK, after a bit of digging, it looks like fans of the series will not likely get much in the way of bonuses at all.

The same features as the original, with naught but the trailer available for it. Apparantly the image quality (while better than DVD) is still not as impressive as it could be.

Can't speak for the second film's Blu-Ray feature set, but if it follows the pattern set by the first, I wouldn't hold my breath for a look behind the scenes. I'd love to be proven wrong.

^ well, that's kind of a bummer .. I mean the movie celebrated it's 20th anniversary last year (2009) .. I highly doubt they'll do anyting for the 2nd movie.. they'll probably use the same extras for the NIMH movie too ...

I wonder if the T.V series would go Blu?

I don't even think the entirety of the series was released on DVD (select episodes on themed discs was all it got).

I would like to see a Blu Ray release (maybe they could clean up some of the horrible coloration mistakes), but I doubt it would happen.

All of the episodes are available for digital distribution though, Netflix and Hulu have them I believe.

If anyone discovers the All Dogs Go To Heaven 2 extras, please speak up! I'll do some more research, and maybe head on out to the stores next week to see if they updated their inventory.

well thats cool that it's on blue ray but i don't have a blue ray player. but i have both movies on dvd. i have two dvds of them (the double feathure ones that has both of them together and three for the first one when it was seperated. going to get second one when it comes too so i can have three of it too.) then maybe i'll give one to my cousin when i go to her wedding next year as a wedding present. (or maybe not).

well taylorlee i have the entire series on dvd. if you want to know how to get it on dvd too just go my topic "all dogs go to heaven series on dvd" (or something close to that if it's called something else) in it i explain on how to get the series on dvd. hope that helps you out.
