(I'm killing off a character: Maize. She died of sickness)
Arizona poked her head into her den, looking around she noticed the tracks of a much larger dog. Or a dog with much larger paws anyway. "What?" she whispered.
'Pepper..' She growled quietly to herself and layed in the dirt that covered the den floor.
Red was sound asleep when he scared himself awake. Red dropped his head back onto the ground, moaning. His stomach growled loudly, opening his eyes he stood and sprinted off into town. "Chicken, steak, or ribs?" he grinned, looking at all the stands with people. Red lowered his tail, his ears, and dangled his head. Wheezing and coughing, gagging so people would notice. He whine and plopped on his side and made a low whimper. "Awww, poor doggie." a little girl said after watching the dog stagger around like a drunken cowboy, then fall on his side. "Can I buy him a tweat mom!?" she pulled on her mothers jacket. "I suppose, but don't buy an expensive one. You're daddy will kill me if you did." Red waited for the girl to come over and reward him for stealing her heart. She came over and kneeled down, holding out a large T-bone steak.
'Wow, what size is the expensive stuff?' Red thought, he couldn't possible be seeing that steak. Red eased his head off the ground, looking at the girl with big, round puppy-dog eyes. "He's so cute!" she squealed to her mother. Red swore his ears bled at that. Looking at her one more time, he eased al the way off the ground and slowly took the steak from her hand. Instead of running off with it, he stayed there on the spot and gobbled up one have of the steak. 'Wow.' he repeated to himself.
'And to think she wasn't supposed to buy me anything big.' he laughed sarcastically. He picked up the rest of the meat and looked at the girl. She just smiled and patted him on the head. Red wanted to lick her hand but he figured her mother would scream, or freak out and chase after him.
Red turned away and pretended to limp away, making sure the girl still saw him. Once out of site, he bolted away and back into his pack territory. "Rose!" he yelled. He dropped the steak at her feet.

Species/Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Catahoula mix
Personality: Dobby is very energetic and loves to play, she hardly ever thinks about herself especially during a time of need.
Background:
Dobby was born in a kennel from a Catahoula Leopard dog and a stray Australian Cattle dog. Her mother was found roaming the streets a month after she had gotten pregnant and was taken by the kennel workers. As time went by the kennel started to get full and once the puppies were born and weaned they would have to put down. Once weaned, all eight puppies were scheduled to be but down at different times. Dobby, however was saved from the tragedy from a early teenage girl. The kennel happily agreed to let her have Dobby, even for free. The kennel started giving away dogs for free to people who wanted a family pet. They needed space for strays in more need or help than the ones there already. Dobby never saw her family again but she was happy to be out of the cold kennel cages they provided. At the age of two, Dobby's new owner didn't have the funds to take care of her anymore so she had to make the hard decision of letting the dog run free. She couldn't take her to a kennel or shelter because all of them required a signature and a payment to put a dog or cat in. After a day or two of thinking she removed the collar and let the dog loose. Dobby kept coming back to the yard gate time and time again, after realizing she wasn't being let in she tried the front door. No answer. Several months had passed before the dog took a hint and let for good.
