i never even noticed their similarities...that's pretty awesome. maybe the creators of balto wanted to sorta have aleu in the third movie with Kody without actually putting her there? idk just a thought...

Its good to see something like this! I'm sick of people thinking that Dusty IS Aleu and stuff like that.

Well, here's what I think:

Aleu is a really free spirit, she doesn't like anyone bossing her around and can be really stubborn. She hates to be called a baby and wants to be included, she also can be pretty gulliable. Aleu is a born leader, and she is brave, but can do things stupid to be brave.

Dusty isn't. She wants to be accepted by Ralph and Kirby so she just goes along with them, whatever they do. She is stubborn though, and is gulliable. We don't know how she reacts to being called a baby, but she doesn't act like a free spirit, she goes along with her gang. Dusty is NOT A LEADER. She lets Ralph and Kirby walk over her like a doormat, and then when Kodi comes and try's to pursuade them, she just goes along with that too. She does seem brave though, she took on the plane challange without any doubts, almost slid off a cliff and coped with it, and then ran into the cold night to find (to her) the bad guy.

And also, their markings are different! For one thing, Aleu is part wolf, and Dusty obviously isn't. Dusty is a light grey, and Aleu is brown.
And the bridges on their nose, Aleu's looks rough, and Dusty's is smooth. Their socks are different, ears (colour) are different, and their eyes are most certianly different!

They do both howl, but Aleu howl by heart, while if Dusty didn't know about Balto, she wouldn't have howled ever!

Well there are BIG design differences seriously:

Eyes
Aleu's eyes are big and very feminine-looking. The color is yellow-light blue-dark blue
Dusty's eyes are smaller and round-shaped. The color is white-dark brown/purple-black

Ears
Aleu's ears are big darker than rest of her body.
Dusty's ears are smaller and the same color as rest the body.

Color
Aleu's fur is brown with creme underbelly.
Dusty's fur is more greyish.

Build:
Aleu's body shape is almost the same as Balto's.
Dusty appears to be smaller than Balto and also her build is very masculine.




I hightly doub they are related in any way. the one thing that makes them similar is the design, but both Dusty and Aleu have common wolf/husky design. There are about 10 coloration variations of husky's colours, so if the dwo dogs looks the same it doesn't mean they must be related...
