Before we begin... These are just my suggestions and opinions and shouldn't be taken to seriously. Please do not strike up a flame war. Let's all be mature here and have a calm discussion.

Now, what is the major conflict of Animation Source today? Poor activations, one would say. Now I'm not saying anything negative against the mods. There are 20 current Sources on the English side and only 7 moderators. The moderators are not bots, as you know, and can't be there 24/7 to check 20 different fan images, arts, videos, contest etc. -- Now Steet has claimed that he is working on a system that allows Moderators to check all the activations for everyone source on one page. Yes, this would help with mods forgetting about dead sources, but that is still a lot of work on their hands. Balto Source alone probably gets 10+ drawings every HOUR... So what do we do to fix this, mess?

• Give the active sources their own staff
Sources like Balto Source, Rio Source, etc. are active 24/7. Being so, it may be easier if those heavy sources have their own staff (sections only. The original shoutbox moderators and global mods can stay) so they can deal with the copious amounts of updates while the other global mods get some free time and are able to check the less active sources.

• Bring back Admins
NOT for choosing new mods! The Admins would make sure the mods are doing their jobs and not harassing/breaking rules among the site. That would be their only job. Now say there is a moderator that isn't doing his or her job and is nothing but a troll? Penalties. Admins would be able to give mods Penalties which would only be visible by Steet himself. If a mod gets a certain amount of penalties or if their first penalty is severe, Steet can decide if the Moderator should be replaced, banned, or if they are still free to go, etc.

• Have more help for the small stuff around sources.
It's not always about the fan section page that needs cleaning. What about new information on sites, and Selection of the week? Majority of sources are, honestly, selection of the Month or even YEAR. Now I understand not a lot of sources get new drawing or images but why does the image have to be new? Why not go through their old, retro work to select some drawings that need to be cleaned after laying in the dust?

These are some of my current ideas. Again, I'm just putting them out there for you all to discuss so don't take them to seriously. If any of you have good ideas and want me to list it I will and I will give you credit for your thoughts.

I certainly agree with what you have post here , I have never been under the skin of a mod on this place , but I have y own forum which needs approval before submiting anything , and It's already difficult to manage it even when it's not that active as this place , so as a favor for the moderators , I think having each source their own staff would make their job easier , And about the Idea of the admins , I think they would be helpful as well , as a motivation for the moderators to do their job well , and to maintain the order between them .

Something tells me you have missed a great part of what was an underlying factor in mod/admin fiascos...

A new "type" of mod would definitely be helpful. x.x

They should have no access to the banning system, their only job should be activating site content - like the site builders basically.
The site builders could probably do it themselves to be honest. Just instruct whoever to contact the global mods if someone is repeatedly trying to abuse the system etc.
They wouldn't be able to hand out warnings or bans like the global mods.

I was a PART of the Mod/Admin conflict, thank you very much... I witnessed the whole site going down. My idea of admins is far different than the normal admins, if you read it. They don't have any powers to change, ban or anything. They're just look outs. And the french side has an admin, if you didn't know...

Well, from what I see, it doesn't differ much from what they were doing in the past minus the mod powers *shrug*. I know the French side has an admin, you don't have to take a know-it-all attitude on this. I just think that after an incident with one of the past English admins it may not be the greatest of ideas, and may not be accepted by steet.

I was an admin myself and I knew some of the other admins personally. Just because the trolls were able to access the admins' powers and mess with the system was not our fault. We didn't decide what powers we had, Steet did. Admins aren't bad on the English side and it really was unnecessary for everyone to lose their job.
